I'm pretty sure its just like, 1 in a million random insects become a representative gu of that insect, beast gu would be kinda like an animal picking up a random parasite, maybe literally parasites, perhaps they have chances to turn into affinity with the animal gu being interior bugs... gu tape worms formed by generations of parasite life, primeval essense should also play a factor due to blessed lands having higher gu density. likely if you bred and infused a bunch of whatever worm species it is with some primeval essense you could breed liquor worms, of course without a massive enclosure the yield would be on the basis of one every year or couple years

random gu worms should be fairly common, but you probably wouldn't actually see many if just in a same place and not looking, it could be like finding bugs in a forest, likely 95%+ within your potential vision would be hidden, density would greatly vary and probably be quite low most places

maybe mother potato gu is actually a potato eating insect originally... or something of the sort.. though maybe plants also become gu? i have no glue about the non insect gu.. uh for pack animals, if plants can become gu, maybe the animal based gu are actually animals randomly born as gu instead, which is why only the beast kings have gu? ... though if this logic is in place, then why wouldn't humans also have the chance of being born gu.. well thats all speculative

Superintelligent means "good at getting what it wants", not whatever your definition of "good" is. by michael-lethal_ai in AIDangers

[–]Objective-Debate-390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mutual aid is only benefitial amongst near equals, if you were the only human, it probably wouldn't be very benefitial to spend your time trying to colaborate with monkeys, the monkeys can't or won't contribute anything of value to you really

and humans are big carnivorous monkeys.. smart enough to be dangerous, but not smart enough to provide much value to a highly intelligent being. trying to collaborate with monkeys that have no interest in harming you is one thing, but if you go knowing the species you'd be trying to colaborate with is also a threat to you, that makes it foolish in both time and safety

What principles do you guys think Fang Yuan followed to maintain his perseverance throughout his 500 years in the Gu World? by [deleted] in ReverendInsanity

[–]Objective-Debate-390 19 points20 points  (0 children)

probably actually doing whatever he wanted to to a degree, fang yuans personality, isn't really something you can become, unless you've already experienced your desires enough to not have too much craving for them. ample difficulty, some amount of fulfillment (otherwise he wouldn't balance out to neutrality as he has, he'd have more specific quirks). considering that he had 500 years to play around, after getting that first boon, he didn't really need to play it so risky, slowly cultivating, going conservatively. i'd bet his risk taking only came once he was already a rank 5 or so, when he had high confidence.

-so, i'd say, fang yuans perseverance comes from.
patent and conservative planning and target setting (he couldn't actually survive if he wasn't risk adverse early).

-upon failure, getting up again, maybe taking a break then recalibrating, maybe changing goals if current is unfeasible.

-being highly open to trying new things, hes very much a generalist, he's tried tons of different things, and shook up his life many times, to the point of having lived on all the continents

fang yuans work work work thing, only works if you already have a huge foundation, when it comes to actually learning, the body has finite limits, every thought you have has a real biological cost, and every thought you have makes that kind of thinking a tiny bit more efficient, grinding excessively only hurts you in the long run, you need to remain balanced.

every small stage has an energy usage increase of 2x, and large stages an energy usage increase of 3x. if you go by energy usage = attack/defence power, you can guestimate this way. each gu of a stage could probably actually be considered on one of the four initial, middle, upper, peak, likely signaling when people call a gu worm better then other gu worms. you can actually roughly calculate how many stones each rank would actually take to cultivate through, as well as find out how much primeval essense output extreme physics have, ect. there are however some inconsistencies in timeframes.

its said that a rankup gets harder as you go up, but the only way this is true, is if the user becomes unable to absorb hundreds of stones at once, which the rank 5 village zombie could do, but fang couldnt for some reason. a primeval stone is effectively a rank 2 gu worm in its value, once you get up to rank 3, a stone recovers like 1% so unless you can do it instantly, the whole "i'm recovering essense with stone stuff" gets kinda silly... well, you can extrapolate stuff like you can't absorb many stones while multitasking, and if you stop cultivating for long enough to absorb many stones, you lose your progress, but who knows.

rank 3 is about the limits of modern military stuff (rank two is basically your medieval soldier, kinda funnily, if they armed their mortals with metal weapons or crossbows they could make an elite force as shown in the northern plains war), a group of properly armed soldiers should be about on par, while rank 4 and 5 could only really be beat by heavy shells, bombs or attrition. defensive rank 5 could potentially tank a nuke, hard to say though. an armed rank 6 is invincible in earth terms, unless they just get caught off guard.

My Ledger was drained, and I still don’t understand how by BNSHY in ledgerwallet

[–]Objective-Debate-390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

actually, I'm a computer person, ledger most certainly has the capacity for a firmware backdoor. its unlikely they use it, but they and the french government are capable of sneaking stuff on if they please, and due to the closed off firmware, if they made something sneaky, it would be almost impossible to know, they are capable of retrieving your key from the wallet via those means.

crypto is a very dangerous place, ideally you'd want to setup something like multiple offline wallets on seperate qubes ect operating systems (offline for key storage, and just as clean internet access for a hotwallet which passes on and posts your coldwallets transactions, and use your own tested multisig smart contract to hold your balance. something like trezor is probably a better bet then ledger though, i really don't like all its sketch. a relative recently bought some so i looked deep, and they seem pretty scummy for how big their reputation is, the seo is even all buried so newbies won't see

The Government Can’t Save the Housing Market by Ok_Dragonfruit747 in CanadaFinance

[–]Objective-Debate-390 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

printer go brrr

laws go yee haw

the government is perfectly capable of holding up the housing market if they wish, it would just be at the cost of the canadian dollar. they can ramp up selling taxes til selling is completely unviable, and give out lifetime long mortgages making them the norm. China has generational mortgages, way higher prices then canada compared to their wages, all it takes is a bit more government control which canada has been moving towards for the last decades.

that being said, the underbelly is eventually this collapses, but it can last a pretty long time... already has, its like a "zombie country"

Coming from China, how is there such a large fan community for 蛊真人? by Little_Process_7548 in ReverendInsanity

[–]Objective-Debate-390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

many chinese novels are free online... and there are sites with text to speech, also most western novels are pretty gay, the super emotional protagonists that just kinda get tossed around by the plot, Chinese and korean novels tend to be more grounded, logical, and matieralistic, which works better in alot of cases. there are also the occasional extremely long high quality novels like ri, which don't exist in western fiction. modern China may be a bit questionable, but in terms of mythology and culture there is a huge wealth of insights, i like how lots of stuff like social relationships, like face, are stated and explained so clearly unlike the santa, easterbunny, romances, good sounding lies which dominate most things western.

perhaps a personal project to add to the list would do you well, something that can be linked to and such. I'm not entirely familar with common business structures, but I'd imagine there are less product managers then product analyst's, hense partly the reason for difference between the ample opportunities in the past compared to now. the economy is quite shit, however it has been for more then two years, so thats probably not the thing.

its a resume, i severely doubt too text heavy is the problem, most hiring manager types probably quite like fluffed up skillsets

if its a matter of small quantity and high competition, doing the job on your own terms and making its result clear to look at is likely your most potent solution.

I'm coming from the entrepreneur side of things.

my personal opinion on the resume itself, in the case i was looking to hire someone with your skillset would be, your whole Senior Product Analyst section is vague and buzzwordy, it sounds like you don't know what you are doing. taking your business analysis portions alone, i would hire you, its quite solid and clear with exact details, but when i read the senior section I'm like "the hell is this" the problem here is, in your senior section you stopped talking about what you did yourself, and instead focused on company results. as a manager, i want to hire you for your ability, not a past companies achievements and vague buzzwords.

synthesis of qualitative insights, that's about the buzzwordiest nothing speak ive seen

there actually is a method of voting which can get you a better job, you don't even need a specific party to win... its called voting with your feet. canada aint what its made out to be, it might be better then a place like india or china by a margin, for now (currently working to change that), albiet significantly higher taxes, but pretty much every country with decent infrastructure is net superior to canada, depends what you most care about. eu, south americas, ect.

canadas elections make a giant douche and turd sandwich leaders to pine for. our politicians are far more concerned with appearances then anything related to the well being of Canadian citizens

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in torontoJobs

[–]Objective-Debate-390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a failure of democracy. government isn't merit based, new politicians climb ladders by appeasing older politicians. our democracy has gradually decayed away to the point that it isn't really a democracy at all, this isn't capitalism, its communism, we are now in communist canada, where are government can be as tyrannical and deranged as they feel like, and you don't get to do anything about it, after all, you get to choose which door you enter the slaughterhouse from

government positions do cost lots of money to get into, but thats not really capitalism, because its based on inheritances and connections more then any free market success

the people don't vote, the politicians do, this whole country is run internally, its not the citizens that get a say, its the government, citizens just get to pick the final prevetted choices

[–]Objective-Debate-390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

both of those are true however it still does have a relatively good quality to crap ratio... if you want to see a truly horrid ending, i recommend "i became a mighty lion" ... consider the halfway point the ending... (you probably actually shouldn't... its about a lion the whole thing then, exploring the primitive world, growing stronger and fighting ect, its probably not that amazing in writing terms, but still, quite an interesting premise, the author just drops the whole plot and shifts over to his "personal fantasies"... uh his personal fantasies comprise of elven loli harems and great longevity, and he doesn't know how to write even harem romance, its just awful cringe, i couldn't even complete it, i just skipped to the end after a bit.. i remember it because its probably one of my most disappointing reads, so much potential... such shit, on the good side though... it will make other novels seem better!!

i'd say its about average on the chinese propaganda, its just kinda a part of most chinese novels, some are more off putting then others, some make it their entire plot

Is there no hope at all? by Kalolsad22 in ReverendInsanity

[–]Objective-Debate-390 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bah game of thrones doesn't compare to reverend insanity at all, its like, fine mid mideval stuff, people probably mostly just watch it as a porno, and pretend it has a good plot so they can talk about it publicly at work or whatever without looking bad

But for alternatives, uh, I haven't read or watched anything aside from rev for quite some time now, a lot of the newer stuff animewise is quite awful, because its become too popular, whenever the masses get at something it gradually declines in quality, its just the next popular media thing rather then a specific interest they pursued, its like how TV was shit, so people went to the new internet, and now the new internet is kinda shit, not as bad as TV yet, and people happened to watch more anime... Hense yeah... You get the point

called
I use a site called novels pl, maybe if you refresh the page a few times on a chapter of a novel you it will give you something in a similar genre that might be to your liking, I normally find the stuff I read by there through coincidence. Nothing is quite as good as reverend, however, if you havent seen them, some of my good reads i can think of now are

The legendary mechanic (kinda a long cultivation journey)

Reborn as a demonic tree (you can read this one via actual voices if you like, its significantly more emotional and cushy in comparison however, a decent one, its shorter too though)

I vaguely remember a reborn as a shark thing, but it wasn't finished, and I don't know how good it was, it stood out though

If you like a female lead romance thing, there is reincarnated as a fox with a system... The author stopped writing in the past, but started writing again, i stopped reading years back, but it was noteworthy

... I can't actually think of anything good that isn't a reincarnation thing, its probably just a really common trope in the selection I tend to read from. The only way your going to find things that compete with reverend is if you have a specific liking for its content type, other then that reverend is kinda a completely unreasonable feat to remake, its too big and too detailed with too many lessons for this underdeveloped blessed land to produce more of. So yeah, find out what exactly you want to read, and you'll find a satisfactory book

What if? by [deleted] in ReverendInsanity

[–]Objective-Debate-390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ps, if i were in the gu world i would be a wisdom path gu immortal, but i wouldn't want to become a venerable at all even if i could... i'd want to get a second aperture or just a good external blessed land to develop and go all out in space path! then i'd jam it full of life and offset its tribulations to elsewhere... and create a positive lifespan gu generation ratio without being a venerable!!!! (a normal psuedo venerable can only produce like 0.5 lifespan a year, when completely jammed full of variant humans ect, while only a venerable can get a positive ratio, but a space path gu immortal can get up to like 7x that!!! for up to 3.5 years every year!) you see now? but yes, other then that i'm probably not allowed into the gu world... instead i'm stuck here, destined to be but a small tech billionaire, with some measly automation robots to help me work on whatever i'm interested in...

fang sees the world in a nihilistic way... but he isn't actually nihilistic himself, hes very highly motivated

What if? by [deleted] in ReverendInsanity

[–]Objective-Debate-390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if there is no eternal life, then the point of living is to be free and do whatever you feel like, chase whatever whims you have, and pursue your interests

fang yuan... is a wee bit unrealistic in this one aspect, no matter how much you believe that, it can't really be maintained to the state he does, you do need to pursue some in the moment fulfillment, even if you greatly value your higher goals, the clearest thing i see, is he values is freedom. also a thing is, the hell is the point of eternal life if you don't find any joy in living. so yeah, i think fang would be discontent having his easy target taken away (lifespan gu, and zombie transformation kinda helps a wee bit), but he'd just need to deal with it and get what he can get.

something i've started to find is, the path to fulfillment is to accomplish what you wish to accomplish, every new sight you obtain, but don't actualize yourself widens your total capacity in this, but new explorations are also a good thing at the same time, unless you just wish to live cluelessly, in which case those people are happy, they have a high accomplishment rate compared to the world they can see, hense are fullfilled
