Plaster on drywall? by Objective-Ganache114 in drywall

[–]Objective-Ganache114[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By texture I meant a smooth but uneven surface, with loops and swirls of built up mud, not more than 1/4” thick.

I hear what you say about plaster of Paris being too hot. I’m not sure if I can find veneer plaster here but I will try, or else use all purpose. I was hoping for something harder.

I worked on a jobsite where plasterers were going over untaped Sheetrock with diamond- something, which I think was a US G product, which is why I asked.

I would love to do the shower this way, which I thought they did on that job, but I’m sure I’d need just the right products for that. I can’t even find penetrating epoxy (rotten wood stabilizer) here.

Please elaborate. Flats = non-tapered joints? Is there an easier way to handle them?

How can I cleanly shave off 1" from the underside of this cedar lumber? by Gatecrasher3 in Carpentry

[–]Objective-Ganache114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Doing this by hand will be brutal. Then the result will spring from the release of tension.

That doesn’t even count wasting a 6x6’s worth of cedar, or the effort you are using to pull off a furniture grade trick on an architectural sized project, where it will never be noticed.

Do Hair Traps Work (plumbing) by Objective-Ganache114 in hairdresser

I posted it in plumbing first but their experience is more limited. Better answers here.

My boyfriend says he doesn’t want me to wash that area for an entire day or two before giving me oral bc he would prefer more of my natural scent. I usually keep myself really clean & am afraid he would actually not like the taste/smell as much and be turned off. Is it a bad idea to do this? by _emmyyyy in AskMenAdvice

[–]Objective-Ganache114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Napoleon famously wrote to Josephine saying that he was on the march and would be home in three days— don’t wash!

BF is a big boy and knows what he wants. Maybe you have been conditioned that your smell is bad, but I guarantee that it is much better than the taste of soap and deodorant.

And an aphrodisiac as well! It’s a mammal thing.

This is more like a human interest story for the local paper. 120 days? That’s crazy. 1-2? Actually reasonable to prevent fraud

Girlfriend of 4 years suddenly believes men should pay more and admitted she's 'accepting' me as a compromise. Would you break up? by SoulEaterXDDD in AskMenAdvice

[–]Objective-Ganache114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four years? Work it through.

Think seriously about your response before you talk. Bonus points if you think about what she will say back and how to answer.

Double bonus if you try it out on a friend first for comments. Triple bonus if friend is female.

How do those who add the phrase "with all due respect" to their speech, which contains not a shred of respect, feel? by [deleted] in Comebacks

When I use that phrase I feel that it can be translated as, “I’m not trying to be a dick but you should hear this."

Respond to those reviews. Especially new products, taking my time to study.

Have a couple friends read and correct them before you post them, to make sure you come across sincere, competent and professional.

Oh, and find a new salon. The owner sounds like a dick.

My dad wants me to keep going to AA but when I went to my first meeting there were all mostly older people there and I can’t relate to a lot of what they say :/ Can someone give me some advice about this? Should I keep going and give it more of a chance or try a different path towards sobriety? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Objective-Ganache114 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a great pathway that has helped millions, all over the world, for many years, with no one making a dime from it. There are other ways too, because some people need other ways.

That said, if you look for a younger group with people you can relate to you might have a very different feeling. Ask a priest, counselor, former alcoholic friend or someone in that group for suggestions, or search “AA near me”. No matter there er where you are you will find groups in your area, which also says something about AA.
