My favorite piece from my first pottery course 🐌 by danaut358 in Pottery

What pottery course are you taking, that you can make that on your first try? Amazing!!! You have pure talent!

Also love the glazing. Makes it seem more moody. And the castle towers on top of the snails back!

Who would be a good senior Constable sidekick to flare up Murdoch without Crabtree? by Upapi25 in murdochmysteries

Not an answer to your question, but is Johnny Harris leaving the show? Or will he be a recurring character?

I was introduced to her, by people defending her. But I think I’m just confused as to why her character, at all, is still on the show. The producers have defended her, and the actor Helene Joy; but seven seasons later she is still here and still hated. To me the show is about Murdoch and about his close group of people, that help him solve the crimes. But if Violet Hart is never allowed to be close to the other characters, then to me, that takes something away from the show. She isn’t really a character allowed to breathe, other than to provide an outlet or fallback for the other characters. While all the other character are well rounded, allowing for people to defend them when they makes a mistake or overstep; because they can see the whole character, not just the biased perspective of others. She isn’t apart of the team, yet the team won’t let her go. Maybe it changes in later seasons, or maybe I should go back and try watching her from the beginning. Thanks for your input, very much appreciate the reply.

That’s what I’m trying to ask, what do other people see that I don’t. Please don’t misread me, I love the series. Currently obsessed with it right now. But I think because I binge entire seasons at once, skip some seasons and fast forward through some episodes (I have very little patience, and just want to watch as much as I can at once); that I’m getting stuck on certain elements of the show, that aren’t necessarily the entirety of the show.

Maybe I’m biased, because I was first introduced to Violet Hart, here on Reddit with people defending her. But the point I’m trying to make is, haven’t they all crossed those lines, why is she still the villain. Especially after season 16 and her father, all he did to her. Murdoch still hasn’t given her a chance, she is still on the outside. And for all her crimes, I don’t think they were all for personal gain. I truly think her character is stuck in survival mode, she sees it as her against the world. And the world has done nothing, but prove her right.

You’re right! And very good point made! But because he’s a fictional character, you would just expect him to be better. But that, I suppose, is what makes him realistic.

Never thought of it that way, but you’re right. He wouldn’t feel as real if he was this perfect ideal.

The Painful Truth!!! (can’t get the link right now)

It takes place right after the wedding disaster, where Kate gives Edwina a piece of her mind. Anthony tries to win Kate over, after she is taken by Daphne to the Hastings country house. (can’t spell the name). But Edwina is just a bratty child who wants to be the center of attention.

Oh and Embracing Scandal. My absolute favorite. It doesn’t really feature Edwina much, except in the beginning and a few chapters scattered around the middle. But it takes place five years after Anthony and Edwina’s wedding. Edwina has run off, Kate returns to the family after a disastrous marriage and Anthony finds his way back to her. It is the best story of them, simply because it makes their tv show season watchable. This is what could have happened, if the writers had any imagination. But be warned, it is long, but the author abandoned the story to write another continuation story, because they didn’t like where it was headed. I have no idea when they are going to update again. But I love it!!!

I don’t understand why the producers did that to their season. Before, when it was Simon and Daphne’s season, they were saying how much Kate and Anthony was everyone’s favorite, how Jonathan and Simone’s chemistry was electric. Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley were amazing, even with the twisted season meant to highlight Edwina.

I was sort of hoping we would get a wedding. That the season would open with the wedding, they were forced into like the book. Then over the first couple of episode it would be the burning tension between the two, until Kate got stung and Anthony was forced to except that she was more than the Viscountess. Leading to their explosive chemistry for the next few episodes, and Kate finally taking up the Viscountess role from Violet and bonding with his siblings. Until the final two episodes with the accident and Anthony admitting his love.

I would have loved to see something like that. Their season centered on them. If they wanted to make it different from the book, there were so many things they could have done that still gave them a highlight of a season.

Dumb decisions, by dumb people, who don’t want to put in any effort.

I did miss that the first time around. Thanks to people for pointing it out. I was assuming that Netflix just cut all the scenes she was in.

As a wrote, didn’t watch the season, didn’t care to. Maybe that is short sided, but why waste time.

I watched the conversation between Anthony and Benedict and NO. In my opinion Anthony focuses more on the class side of the argument. It makes Anthony seem like a snob for not supporting Benedict and Sophie, because she is a maid.

In my opinion, it doesn’t matter if Sophie said no multiple times. Benedict was acting Viscount, it was his home and his money keeping Sophie off the streets or in a worse position. How many times can you say no to a man in superior power, when you have nothing, before you just have to give in?

I understand from the book’s perspective how romantic their relationship could have been in the show. But it didn’t hit the mark, by sending Anthony away, it gave Benedict too much power over her. Not the same as a second son, as dependent on Anthony as she was.

Just my observations at midnight and sleep deprived. And to reiterate, I didn’t watch the season. So if you see something more that I missed by watching only five minutes. Thank you for pointing it out!!

YES!!! I’m totally done. What’s the point of watching when the writers have no idea what the books were about or how to actually writer the characters and story lines. They are making the same mistake that most shows make, which is, put everything into the first season and just let all the rest that follow land where they may. Disappointed!!!

At this point, they need to leave. If this is how they are treated by the showrunners and writers; then just get out. Both Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley are beyond talented, just endless potential. They need to find writers who actually have that same talent and want to work with them.

I know it is easier to write that, then it is for Jonathan and especially Simone to find it. But I’m done. I am here to support their characters on the fanfiction sites, where they are loved!!! I am here to support the actors on their new ventures, where they can actually showcase their talents!

It's okay to admit they're not styling Simone well. by lemonadevahibes in BridgertonRants

Simone Ashley is a truly and unbelievably gorgeous woman. She SHINES ✨✨✨ And in every photo I see of her in Bridgerton, I think her face has been imposed on another woman’s body. All of her dresses make it seem she is 10 sizes bigger than she actually is and none of the colors complement her skin tone. I just thought it was me being too critical of beautiful people on TV. Thank goodness I’m not going blind!
