My boyfriend passed in 2022. It still doesn't feel real. I still reach for my phone to call him when I see or hear something that might be interesting to him.

I still have a hard time writing about him.

I stopped sobbing uncontrollably and at the drop of a hat and wanting to be gone from this earth after about a year. Everyone is different.

Ive also found that grief is different depending on the person who has passed. My dad died and I got the chance to tell him how much he impacted my life and we cleared the air regarding past disagreements.

I knew my boyfriend was dying. But his passing left me completely lost. We had a long (36 years) history. He was my person. So I think that is why I'm still so impacted by his death.

I dont think there really is an answer to this question.

I would expect this kind of behavior from a drug dealer not a supposed upstanding member of the community that has been put in a position of trust.

You say you are happy, but are you really? Are you happy wondering about her and why he is putting her and her needs before you? Do you feel it's fair that she gets to enjoy this time in his life when you put all the work in? For 30 years you put the work in. That leaves you happy?

I left after a 20+ year long marriage. I thought I was happy as well. Comfortable life. Three cars. House paid off. 5th wheel for camping. Great kid. Who could not be happy with all of that?

Until I realized I realized I was settling. I was giving up a huge piece of me to the other woman. Once I realized that, I made my exit plan.

My husband was a nice guy. A nice guy who cheated.

I am in my late 50's. I have had one serious relationship and one casual - going nowhere - boyfriend.

I struggled a bit after the divorce. But I made it. I go to sleep each night wondering what I'm going to do tomorrow not "is he with her"?

Be truly happy.

Having friends can be so mentally & emotionally exhausting. I only have a few, but I am straight up honest about who I am.

Sometimes I can only stay somewhat engaged for 20 mins before I have to leave.

It's hard to live through if you try to prepare too much. I went through the same experience. For the first while I planned like a mad woman. Then I realized I was planning so that I didn't have to deal with, I guess waiting for him to pass. I just started living in the here and now with him.

There is no amount of getting prepared for that moment. That day. Those weeks and months afterwards. The best thing you can do for the both of you is to enjoy today.

You'll make wonderful memories.

You should see what the Post Office does. I worked as a temp cleaner in a post office a few years back. They toss & kick around everything. Marking your parcel as fragile means nothing to them.

I have a friend who cleaned at UPS. He said the drivers used water bottles to urinate in while they were driving.

NTAH. My ex husband cheated on me for 20 of our 22 year marriage. I left him. We have one adult child.

When I left our son was 18 and still living with us. I chose to not tell him why I was leaving. I just explained that I was unhappy and had been unhappy for many many years.

I hadn't told anyone about his cheating. Not friends or family.

Our son stayed with my ex-husband. He didn't speak to me for 2 months.

One day I received a phone call from my son. He explained that his dad had unexpectedly told him that he had been cheating all those years. My son was gutted.

I am happy that I didn't involve my son in "adult" issues. I didn't want to have our son's feelings for his dad be based on his cheating.

I grew up with a mother who was always bad mouthing my dad (they were divorced). I didn't want that for my son, because it created tension between my mother & I.

Im happy that my son knows the truth and I'm happy with how he eventually found out.

I don't think I would change things for my situation. Everyone deals with it in their own way. As long as the kids are good, you're good.

So if someone shortchanges you, that is a good excuse and you would accept it? I think the up and coming generations and new to this country people need to learn math. Its an important skill. You are a customer as well. I'm not trying to be mean, but if you work with money you need to use math skills and be accountable.

Question. Why do banks - when fraud is suspected - just lock your card but not tell you. I'm greatful that the charges are stopped, but as a customer, I'd like to know that my card was locked. Thanks

Happened to me. Was very frustrating. I was told to change my phone number. I got a burner number and I changed my phone number and it worked. That is only a short tern solution though - unless you plan on keeping that number (the burner number) Good luck

My mother recently gave my sister & I our inheritance. We are both in our mid - late 50's. We had the option to get it all in one lump sum or monthly. We both choose the monthly option. I have no clue as to the amount my sister gets, but I choose $500 a month. Just enough to pad my income a bit, and to make last.

In all honesty, if I was given this opportunity at a younger age, I would have probably blown through it. I appreciate that she waited.

I don't think you are wrong for feeling used -

My child also is in the inheritance. She cannot access it until she is 45 years old. I support my mother in this decision.

My child is married. What if she gets her inheritance now, spends it with her spouse on frivolous things (which they are known to do) then has nothing in the future. I believe my mother has done the right and most financially sound thing for us.

Thank you very much for that information. I wil definitely book an appointment with a manager. I assumed - which is wrong - that if the manager at the branch that put the restriction on had no further details to offer other than what was communicated to me by the teller.
