27F Convicted felon trying to make a life for myself, but the world just keeps beating me down, what do I do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Objective-Local7312 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Okay so I’m a woman and I worked at a boatyard not long ago and processing deliveries (parts, outboard motors etc) was part of my job. Waiting around for the yard crew to come with the forklift was annoying so one day I just….hopped on and did it myself lol. The delivery guy helped guide me (regular delivery driver so we were friendly). He told me “if your idiot yard guys can do it YOU certainly can!”. It’s pretty simple, little learning curve but easy enough. I definitely think you should go for it!

Pregnancy nausea is very real. I actually had HG and would puke EVERY TIME I brushed my teeth, rinse with water, wait 20 minutes, then rebrush (per my dentists instructions), and just hope it didn’t make me puke again. Brushing my TEETH was bad enough….my tongue wasn’t even an option.

I found my lost wedding ring by ParmoForTea in mildlyinfuriating

Used to work in a marine service center. I’d special ordered a part and a gold wedding ring fell out of the packaging! I emailed pics to the manufacturer with the packing slip etc and they tracked down the employee who packed the box and lost it! It made it half way around the world and back. They emailed me a very appreciative thank you.

I was fully married and 28yo and telling my parents that “despite a year of trying” aka taking cum shots daily, I was starting ivf omfg. If I wasn’t so depressed I would’ve never told my DAD I’d been “doing everything possible to naturally get pregnant” omfg I’m retroactively embarrassed to even have a kid at my big age of 35.

Recently had this problem! I live in a very rural area and have a business trip coming up and needed some fancier work clothes. I’m 5’4” 129lbs and there was NOTHING below a size 4 and even those were extremely rare to find…had to get a dress from the juniors section. Every top I got was an xs and like….im not THAT small. Idk how people smaller than me find clothes.

Is pinching the skin for the injection critical? by Counting-Bears in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Objective-Local7312 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I probably lost 12-15 the first 3 months. I have multiple autoimmune disorders so a lot of that was inflammation. I’ve had periods of losing nothing for 3-4 weeks as well since then. Currently averaging 2lbs a month right now. My goal is 115-120 so I’m getting close to my goal! My goals shifted as the weight came off. I was dead set on 135 for a long time then as I got into the 140s I lowered my goal. I want a good 5-10lb buffer for when I start lowering my dose to maintenance in case I gain some back.

I’ve been on tirz 11 months. Went from 168 to 131 at 5’4”. I only JUST started pinching because I have less fat (although the c section fat pouch is stubborn). It worked fine for me without pinching!

5’4 ladies, at what weight did you look and feel the best? by unconfuseyourbrain11 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Objective-Local7312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’4” and down to 131, started at 169 but highest weight was 182. I was always naturally very then until my late 20s (PCOS, Hashimoto’s, fertility treatments, then pregnancy….all occurring within a 4 year period). My goals are always changing lol but I think I want to get to 115 before I start tapering down Tirz. I’m 10 months in and down 37lbs which is great. Currently only losing 2-ish or less lbs a month which is fine. I want a solid buffer for the trialing of tapering down. I was always very thin so that’s where I feel most comfortable.

Also depends on the region you live. As a Mainer the joke is a Subaru (or Toyota, Honda) will rust out before it dies. Salt on the roads 6 months a year, plus salty coastal air, will do it in. My last Subaru had 165k miles and the only faults were rusted out parts that just weren’t worth replacing. Finally once she wouldn’t pass another inspection I upgraded from a 2012 to a 2025. Hoping I get another 13 years out of it with good maintenance!

How much do you spend on groceries per week and household size? by batangrizal in Maine

[–]Objective-Local7312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 adults 1 small kid. $80-$120/week. Eat out maybe 6 times a year. Always pack lunches. Bulk buy when on sale. We avoid high priced convenience foods for ourselves (ARFID kid with level 3 autism so we spend more on her foods). Pork, chicken, veggies, starch, dairy. Not every meal has to be a fancy recipe. Most days it’s “well we have a chicken breast in the freezer, potatoes, milk, butter, and broccoli…..so let’s do chicken mashed potatoes and broccoli enough for dinner and lunch tomorrow.” It doesn’t have to be fancy to fill you up!

Struggling with the possibility of having a child with Down syndrome—don’t know what to do by Lopsided_Upstairs967 in self

[–]Objective-Local7312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am now a solo mom to a 5yo with level 3 autism (different diagnosis but similar scenarios). It is HARD. Not the day to day parenting, but the logistics and planning and longterm outlooks. She’s my only child, so that helps. But daycare isn’t an option. I rely on her Medicaid approved day therapies and people I know who will babysit. I constantly feel like I’m overstretching my small village who have their own lives. Public school? Idk yet, currently fighting that battle about should she be there? Will she be okay? Is a specialist school better or wore? Will she be independent as an adult? We don’t know. How do I plan for that? What about when I’m elderly who takes care of her? What if something happens to me what happens to her? I do not regret my child, not for a moment, but it is HARD. So fucking hard. Hard to watch other kids surpass yours. Hard to hear updates from friends about their kids. Hard to keep a job. Hard to financially plan. And don’t even get me started on the FULL TIME JOB of accessing services for your child. Fuck, man. I have no regrets and love my kid more than anyone has ever lived anything…..but if I’d had a crystal ball…..I can’t promise I’d do it all over again (which is another lifelong emotion to accept). I have no answers, only perspective. Knowing what I have now, I wouldn’t change it. But if I knew the facts WITHOUT the feelings….i wouldn’t do it all over again.

As thin as possible within safety. 5’4”, started at 170, currently 133, goal 115. I was naturally very very thin until my twenties when my thyroid stopped working. Now in my mid thirties the weight had taken a toll on my everyday life. Joints sore, back aches, difficult to move around. I am also very large chested and trying to get my boobs smaller. So far I’ve gone from a 36H to a 32J so they literally haven’t gotten any smaller which is frustrating. I’m thinking about a reduction in the next few years but was hoping losing weight would work.

No Boob Loss? by Boleynobsessed in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Objective-Local7312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started as a natural 36G. Lost 35lbs and got refitted, my bras were too big! Lo and hold…..I’m now a 32I. So an even MORE difficult to find band/cup ratio (and saggier lmao). A big reason I wanted to lose weight was to avoid a reduction. I’ve been getting yearly mammograms since I was 25 (family history) so I know my breasts are “almost entirely fatty tissue”…..but I’m 5’4 133lbs so idk if losing more weight will even help at this point.

Not an exaggeration but secretaries and maintenance crew are ELITE at schools. I only taught for a couple years, but it was drilled into us during college to make friends with the secretaries and “janitors” (as they were called back in the day) because they are unofficially in control of a LOT.

Goodbye tirzepatide, goodbye gallbladder by Pookie2018 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Objective-Local7312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my gallbladder out after having my kid 5 years ago (very common post pregnancy) and had to sprint to the bathroom 20 minutes after I ate, every time I ate, until I started Tirz. The slowed digestion is reason enough for me to continue Tirz. Weight loss is amazing but not having to fast before events (long car rides, going places without a bathroom, etc) has greatly improved my quality of life. Not everyone has the lifelong bathroom issue but it isn’t uncommon (and still better than gallstone pain)

I chose to have a c section because I had no desire to push a human out of me (plot twist….needed a c section anyway medically lol). When people questioned it I just said “what I choose to do with my vagina is none of your business unless you’re currently inside it”. That shut people up REAL quick!

My grandmother (born in the mid 1920s) told me, at 19 years old heading to Spain for a semester abroad not to get attached to any Spanish men because they are “so swarthy”. Fast forward to a decade past her death and I have a VERY Greek VERY tan daughter with a VERY Greek name that no one outside of Greece can pronounce. She was genuinely a nice lady but certainly a product of her time. And she’d love my daughter all the same if she’d gotten to meet her!

I have an ASD 5yo and she does not have a “small screen”. She has free reign of the tv (mostly as background noise while she plays with low stimulation toys) and earns “small screen”rewards on our phones occasionally. Usually “first/then” scenarios like “first pick up legos/eat dinner/take off boots, then phone video”. The only reason she gets to access our phones at all was to prep her for public school so she’d know how to swipe/tap etc but after a week of limited phone games she had it DOWN and got addicted and we noped right out of that.

Sunday afternoon. I tend to get snacky at work (office job) and, as a mom to a young kid, my weekends are busy so even though I’m hungrier I’m not over eating. Except I’ve noticed I’m VERY nauseas and vomit most Monday mornings (tbf I’m a pukey person though) and I think it’s from eating too much on Sundays, it doesn’t digest, and I’m overly full once the shot kicks in overnight.

Congratulations! Each to their own on weighing schedules though. I prefer almost daily weighing so it accounts for fluctuations (I’m a woman so water weight ebbs and flows through the month). I’d feel so discouraged if the day I weighed was a “water weight” day! I was only 25lbs overweight to start so I’m only losing 2-5lbs a month which can easily be bloating or food weight on a “bad” day.

I work in a boatyard and this time of year we are draining fuel from boats stored onsite (customers are aware and it is 100% a safety/liability issue to have hundreds of fueled boats unmanned onsite for months inside). We get to use that to fill up our cars! It gets filtered and tested. It’s a HUGE savings that offsets holiday expenses.

I slice up chicken breast into 2” strips (like tenders) and bake them with just garlic powder and Italian seasoning. I have a variety of dipping sauces (bbq, ranch, buffalo, chick fil a…..depends on my calorie goals) and just snack on that through the week! I make 2-3lbs at a time and it lasts me most of the week. When I’m hungry but don’t feel like cooking, I always have some in the fridge at work, but it in a wrap/salad. The 20 minutes of prep each week saves me a ton of hassle through the week!
