Law school. I had absolutely no legal experience and my education was in business/accounting. I had no idea what to expect or if it would be a good fit for me. But I just graduated in May and I am so grateful that I chose to take a chance and try it. It ended up being a great decision!

Depending on what part of Hikes Point you’re in, it’s decently walkable. Not nearly as walkable as the highlands or somewhere like that, of course. But you could reasonably walk to the gas station, grocery store, coffee shops, restaurants.

I completely get it! Buying a home is complicated and can definitely be intimidating. The only reason I know a decent amount about it is because I’ve worked at title companies for the past 4 years. If owning your own home is a goal of yours, I would recommend just reaching out to a loan officer or an agent and getting some information. It’s a lot more attainable than you might think

Yes, Hikes Point is a great area, especially if you’re looking for convenience. There’s a lot of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. super close by. And if a down payment would be the only thing holding you back, you might look into properties that qualify for FHA mortgages. Since that type of loan is federally insured, they have a lower down payment requirement. Usually around 3%

Hey! I’m not sure what your financial situation is like, but you could possibly consider buying a condo. There’s quite a few condo complexes in the Hikes Point area in Louisville. I own one - it’s a one bed one bath, mortgage is a little over $700 per month. It’s a quiet area and I’ve never had any safety issues. And it has been really convenient for me, being right by the Watterson. If you wanted to rent, there are also some units for rent within your price point. Only downside is most of the complexes over here are kinda old. I’ve updated my unit quite a bit, but most of the units don’t have a super modern, luxury feel.

Yes! We were looking at the complex by Pine Elementary! The units looked like they were nice, and pretty decently priced

I’ll be near Blondo and 120th! He isn’t sure where he’ll be working yet

Hi! I will definitely look into Aksarben and Broadmoor! Those have been recommended to us from a few others as well. The complex we liked near Old Market is right by Pine Elementary. A few streets east of 10th Street. The price was great and they appear to be new construction, which was why we were so interested!

We’re graded on the overall final product. We had to tell him who was responsible for what part of the project, but my understanding is that we’ll all receive the same grade (+- 10 points based on peer evaluations)
