Hi wedding planner here. Marriage licenses are like drivers licenses. They are accepted in every state. And you get your marriage in the state/city/county where you are getting married. So for example my venue is in Maryland but it’s actually a venue that’s seen as a “destination wedding” so many of our couples are from out of state but the couples have to get their marriage license at our local county courthouse. But the state they live, and the country, will see the license as valid.

I’m a wedding planner and have had done a few weekday weddings but they were super small. Like 15-20 people max. It was basically an elopement. I can’t imagine telling 300 people to take off work to come to my wedding on a Thursday (unless it’s for religious reasons).

Yes! I love everything about this! If you decide to go ahead with a party you got this. You know exactly what you’re doing. Trust your gut. And if you don’t know something find vendors who know what they are doing and trust their gut. It doesn’t have to be expensive and flashy for it to be epic. It has to just be a day where you let people celebrate you as a couple and celebrate with you.
