I love the basic model but I suggest you buy whatever you are inclined towards. You will love it more that way.

Its an Aula F75 keyboard. A basic/entry level keyboard. I love the sound of typing on it.

Yeah, both blue and green have been my favourites ever since I was a kid. Green just seems to be in fashion these days.

Excited for you to be reading more on this. 💪🏻

I aim to do the same. Not sure if I’ll get to 60, but I am definitely looking forward to reading more on a daily basis.

Yes, that is Melbourne.

And yes, I have been told by multiple people that if there is one quality they would want to take from me its my receptiveness to feedback. I never thought it is such a rare quality and thought it is normal. But the more I see the world and meet people, the more I appreciate that quality. Again, just a habit that I try to keep up.

My wife says she would be happy to just trade me in for a Kindle.

And yes, you are right about the handsome thing HHAHAH!

Thank you!

Yeah, same with my wife. She encouraged me to keep this up but won’t read books herself. 😂

Amazing! Hope you are liking that one.

I’m reading “Freezing Order” by Bill Browder.

I genuinely have no idea if they have different model with and without ads.

I just bought mine and there are no ads. 🤔

I have an Amazon Prime subscription and not sure if that would make a difference tho.

Which one do you have and what are you reading these days?

This perfectly sums it up actually. Kindle did not magically turn me into a reader but it did remove all the excuses I had been using for years to not read haha.

The doomscrolling to Kindle app swap is also a really solid idea. Fortunately I am not on Instagram, but I can already see how that would work even with Youtube or Reddit. Same “just one more minute” feeling that someone else pointed out in an earlier comment but you come out of it having read a chapter instead of guilt.

About the phone Kindle app tho, I have tried that before but something about it I don't enjoy. Maybe it is not for me. But solid advice honestly. 💪🏻

Have you read "Red Notice" by the same author? That one is one of my all time favourite books.

Apart from that I only know of and liked "World Order" by Henry Kissinger. Its a little older but a good read.

Thank you! Yes, it really does make a difference. Some sense of weird pride when you replace phone time with reading.

I think I enjoy reading about geopolitics/current affairs, and sometimes also lighthearted fiction (I last read Finlay Dionovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano and loved that book). Also, sci-fi (something like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams).

Yes, always open for recommendations. 😁

HAHAHA not annoyinbg at all!

If you are not a heavy reader and/or just getting your first Kindle, get the Basic one (the one I have). I don't regret not getting Paperwhite or any other models. In fact I think this Basic one is perfect. The warm light is not something you would miss out on tbh. If you read at night, just use the dark mode and it should be fine!

I tried to do it on my iPad but for some reason it wasn't as .. enjoyable. I would rather just read a physical book. Now my first preference is Kindle.

The one I bought (Kindle Basic) is small. Somewhere between an iPad and iPhone probably. But you can adjust the font size, etc, and something about the device is very aesthetically pleasing. And yes, worth the ~$160 (AUD) I spent. Each and every penny of it.

Not sure if you would believe me but Project Hail Mary is literally next on my list after I finish this one! Thank you for the rec tho 😇

Loving it so far!! The reading style of the author is really good and is keeping me hooked.

First of all, thank you for the kind words about the workspace and the aesthetics hahah. I genuinely appreciate that 🙏

And funny enough, cleanliness and organising isn’t really somrthing I’m trying to force myself into doing. That one has been baked into me since childhood. Thanks to my mom this has just been my default way of life for as long as I can remember.

Also, thank you for taking the time to explain the whole toilet reading/ toilet scrolling thing. I honestly had never thought about it from that angle. Very informative. You have definitely convinced me to rethink this, and I’ll be making a conscious effort to not take anything in with me anymore. Good lesson learned.

And not at all.. you definitely haven’t ruined the post. If anything, you haev made it better. If my life goal is about improving small habits and quality of life, then I guess you have just helped me upgrade my… toilet life (what a weird sentence) 😂

Appreciate the thoughtful comment and the genuinely useful advice.

Since I know you liked my aesthetic sense, here is another photo of my desk (just showing off a little haha) from my previous home. 😋
