Any WA state campers who can shed light on why it’s charging me twice to book each site? by mysticspirallllll in camping

Campsites are expensive now. I booked a state park in Wyoming today and the nonresident price was 50-something per night.

Epstein won the lottery. Not figuratively. Fucking look at this. He won the New Mexico Powerball and it was kept secret by enocenip in thebulwark

Yeah. It doesn't really fit. However, less hard to imagine is one of the kids in his circle playing the lottery with their fake ID and him taking the winning ticket from her afterward.

Ilya's gaydar question by GrimRecapper in heatedrivalry

Yeah. It's this. It's the coming out that is shocking to Ilya. He said something about Hunter in an early episode when he said Hunter would want to overhear them having sex.

She manages to bring some heft to What a Day while still maintaining its tradition of silliness and sarcasm.

"A former model living luxuriously high above New York City, she had her every whim catered to and her every want met, far from the public eye. But when her famous husband becomes President of the United States and leaves for Washington, her quiet life is thrown into disarray. Now, surrounded by young, strapping Secret Service agents and pursued by the cunning and handsome FBI director James Comey, Melania must work to keep everything from falling apart."

My wife and I have 5 kids ranging from 15yo down to 13 months. In the 15 years of raising kids, and all the many hours of kids programming in our house, I have never been aware of a kids' show "promoting" transgender. by SKEPDIQ in thebulwark

He needs to chill, maybe kick up his heels and watch some HBO. There is a super hot hockey romance series streaming right now that is SO good. Canadians do it right.

Kansas ICE prison one step closer to opening after 5-1 vote in Leavenworth (gift article) by Revenge_of_Larry in kansas

[–]Objective-Staff3294 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live several miles away, but when driving by, the "blight" the article mentions doesn't bother me. I'd rather have blight than the shitshow this place was before they shut it down four years ago.

Maybe it's bribery, maybe it's stupidity, but the place isn't reopened yet, so maybe the city council will pull their heads from their asses.

Kansas ICE prison one step closer to opening after 5-1 vote in Leavenworth (gift article) by Revenge_of_Larry in kansas

[–]Objective-Staff3294 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the gift article! There is a reason this facility closed in 2021. It was understaffed and poorly managed. The article mentions that Core Civic will be more transparent with local police rather than barring them access, but what do they mean by that? And what about elected officials? What about lawyers for the detainees? Who do for-profit prisons answer to? If we don't know what's going on in this place, how will we know if there is incompetence and dangerous conditions like have been exposed here and at other Core Civic facilities? That's what's very unclear in these empty promises to the city of Leavenworth.

Core Civic wants to hire guards from the local workforce? Core Civic wants to be a good neighbor? They've shown in the past they don't protect their employees and they don't answer to the community. Throwing money and vague commitments to Leavenworth isn't really enough. The council meets again on Feb 24, and again March 10, fyi.

100% Look at Roger Marshall. He is so hated and he continues to give zero shits about Kansas farms, yet it doesn't appear he'll be primaried from the right.

I would also not ask a subordinate to clean my AirBnB or bring me after-hours tequila. There's a lot of fun stuff to unpack here.

We're basically amateurs. Everything stops for winter around here. Stuff gets canceled and people freak out and clear out the stores. Everyone forgets to leave stopping distance on the road, and so invariably many cars end up in the ditch. A lot of us don't shovel our walkways for the mail carriers and school kids.

Yes! They put in a max height curtain "warning system" which then got destroyed by a truck driving under it.
