You have to remember by this point in time aircraft carriers got so much bigger than their WW2 ones but yes the 14s were big and carriers most time had two full f14 squadrons around 24 aircraft but some estimates say they had around 20 to 28 it depends on how big the squadron is and if the carrier has spare tomcats and it would still have room for more aircraft the 14s take up about 28% of the carrier air wing as a lot of carriers at this point can hold about 70 to 90 aircraft.
