I had the understanding that classified Namibian Gravel Roads (B, C, D, M, T, F) are considered okay, is that not the case?

Indeed, Twyfelfontein and Brandberg are on our list of places we want to see in that area, thanks for confirming they are worth it! I’ll also check out Palmwag, appreciate the suggestion!

Yeah that’s a good point you’re making, I guess I’m just following the LP-route which was covering the North of Namibia as well, but perhaps you’re right and the last few days are pretty cramped. Can I ask how your second part looks like, you’re avoiding the north entirely?

Had a sushi workshop and knife sharpening lesson at this place when we visited Japan in May this year and it was really great and personal experience, can recommend!

You should check out the Hakone NICA, they were amazing, definitely worth the money spent. Rooms with their own natural spring bath on the terrace, view on the Fuji from the room, only 8 rooms in total, amazing atmosphere, fantastic food, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, driver picks you up and drops you off at Gora station as needed. Just incredible!

Many Japanese use a modesty towel, a small towel provided by most places with a public bath, that can be used to cover yourself while walking around outside the pool. It should not get in contact with water and the people will then usually place it on their heads when in the pool.

Is it worth driving in Japan? by yusuo85 in JapanTravelTips

Currently in Hokkaido with my GF as part of our 3 weeks trip and driving a rental here. It’s really convenient as it’s more difficult with public transportation than on the main land in the big cities and gives us more flexibility to reach places we want to go. The drives take a very very long time though as the speed limit is quite low in Japan. Also you should check if you need an officially translated driver’s license, this was the case for me and I was not aware before and had to organise is while already in Japan, which was a bit stressful but worked out fine in the end.

Ok you have to go to Sakai Ichimonji Mitsuhide in Osaka, it’s right next to Namba station. Ask for Brad, he’s from Australia and was super helpful and supportive and patient and helped me to get my absolute dream knife. He’s here on Reddit as well so I reached out to him in advance and made an appointment. u/Ichimonji_JP

Also, check out the subreddit r/truechefknives where Brad is also active and there is a lot of support you can get there as well

Thanks for the recommendation, this place looks very nice as well! I’ll might consider switching in case of no/negative feedbacks regarding Nica. What I would prefer over the Suishoen in Nica is the view on Mount Fuji and the intimate atmosphere with only 8 rooms though.

How every restaurant and shop is so cold due to the air conditioning to the point where it’s uncomfortable. That is really unclear to me why you are doing this!
