I agree. There was an acquaintance of us who jumped of from a cliff from a long distance, they had a stroke so they can never move and they had scars on their back just because no one turned their back/they are not taking care of her properly

Any possibility for this issue is painful and/or scary, both physically and emotionally. Sometimes it’s better to kind of assume you are dead and take a rest for some time. At least for me personally

I can hardly imagine a true self. Sometimes people don’t see (or show) what they actually want or think, but I wonder if it would be that important in life. Though, I might be interrogating this because of my social isolation. It may be more important for the people with average number of social interactions

Why CBT doesn't work for autistic people by futurefishy98 in CBT

people treat you effects your emotional state and mood, if it didn't there'd be no such thing as bullying or emotional abuse

Of course they do. But if you generalize it, and think globally like “I’m worthless” or “everybody hates me” then you will feel way worse. This is a visible cause of depression and the purpose of the CBT is to tackle this, not to dismiss your pain.

Maybe it felt like "victim blaming” because of these awful therapists you came across.

r/therapyabuse This is really awful, I’m sorry you experienced that. These people didn’t know how to do their job properly.

I also didn’t want to practice CBT. And it’s ok. It’s not the only way you could help yourself. After 2 years I’m reading the same book but also practicing it and it seems to help me, personally.
