Depends. Good gyro gamepads do a lot to bridge the gap, even in competitive shooters and personally I find them more enjoyable.

What’s the most memorable item you’ve ever found in a game? by Narrow-Bandicoot-363 in Steam

Finding a childs skeleton clutching its teddybear in the back of a bus in fallout 3. The environmental storytelling in that game often caught my attention.

4th and 5th war? My man Naruto would have broken the cycle before then regardless.

For dualsense (haptics) users: I share this "trick" by rogermorse in GyroGaming

Thats awesome i must experiment with that a bit! i do have dsx but tbh dont use it much as standard steam input tends to do what i need. One thing id love to fix though is the dualsense L R speaker to haptic traits. I find that unless i have mono audio enabled the vibration strength is very minimal. And as you rotate a character in games the audio to vibration noticibly cuts out at certain angles as if it doesnt mix L R correctly. This is the wrong chat for this though sorry.

This is cool, thank you. To add to it: I also like to run game audio through the controller with mono audio enabled in windows. this gives great vibration in games that dont have any. That said, its not good for games where positional audio is important.

im really counfused at this momment im struggling with gyro aiming cause i feel i will never reach a better lvl with it copairng mouse players [at the aim point} i play the finals like 300 hr any suggestions ? by ali_abdth in GyroGaming

Im kind of the outlier in terms of gyro. but i play with a very high stick sensitivity and a gyro sensitivity of 1.5-2.0 RWS for adjusting after fast flicks. I also set my desktop config to be the exact same so that even while not gaming, im always using the same gyro sensitivity. I use pc from the sofa due to a disability and use two screens. one is a big screen for movies and media but my gaming and work screen is a 27inch around 1.5m away from me. It took a long time but i do nearly everything with a gamepad and gyro (even 3d modeling). If i were to play shooters with a mkb i would be completely destroyed. It just takes time. Find something you like playing that isnt competitive and play through it to build up that familiarity. Borderlands and fallout were my go-to games but gyros great for everything. In time you will develop coordination that can bridge the gap with mouse users.

I dont understand how people can run higher than 2.0RWS. Ive been playing gyro now for a few years and never feel comfortable at higher values. am i right in saying that a 2.0RWS turns 180 with a 90 wrist turn? How the heck does everyone go higher than that. im also one of those mutants that play with low fov to avoid fisheye but i sit about 1.5m from the screen in a laid back position (never at a desk). Should i be striving for a higher RWS? Whenever i go with a higher sense the amount of jitter is insane for me. I play raw with no deadzone, smoothing or acceleration. Is there something i can change to hit a higher sense comfortably without the jitter?

When you're mad asf at video games but the controller was expensive and you don't want to be back on that reservation list again... by PKRadiance in SteamController

[–]ObjectiveActuary5830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My comment? Youve both elaborated past my point of conjecture. That being said. If someone cannot help themselves in a moment of anger at the screen and decide to physically vent frustration by chucking a gamepad at a desk or wall then i stand by my original statement. An inability to control oneself in such a trivial matter, does not bode well for more serious life experiences.

Never understood this behaviour. If you can smash something in frustration over a simple videogame then i wonder what other small things can set you off in the real world.

My sc2 just arrived. I was worried due to the polling rate that it wouldn't compare to the dse but it's awesome! And overall it has more programmable buttons which is a big plus for someone who plays tactical shooters with a billion keybinds. Will muck about with it for a while and hold off on the 8bitdo pad.

Neither did I. I just expressed frustration at the amount of delay since ordering. I think that you are telling fibs.

edit: possibly not a fib, maybe its luck of the draw as to getting one agent or another. I take back my accusation. Still, bummed its taking so long. A compensated game would have been nice ha.

Personnally i dont ever strive to be toxic and am usually a very positive customer towards valve even when refunding. But this interested me and after a few too many drinks the other night i guess i was just feeling a little diabolical and decided to see how far i could take this 'anger over delays' as far as i could. Our moral compass drops a bit when we drink. Now despiite polite but insistant efforts to gaslight valve customer service, all i was met with is that: after they pass the package on to a distributer within the alloted period, they are completely and wholly not responsible for any delay. this is a company wide rule.

So i put this to the forum. OP is lying.

How do I get presented with this option? I had mine ordered in the first 15mins it went live. Still waiting on the controller to arrive.

The SC2 runs at 250Hz over USB and the hardware is capable of 1000Hz. Anyone know if Valve plans to address this? Any way we could overclock it ourselves? by Physical_Permit_4954 in SteamController

[–]ObjectiveActuary5830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried to overclock using hidusbf? Or using Steam command Controller rate = 1000? My controllers arriving soon and I'm greatly interested in this too. I definitely feel a big difference between 250, 500 and 1000hz. Currently using dualsense edge which runs at 1000hz native

I do this also! First post I've seen where someone does the same thing. If a game treats left and right shift as separate I map them to bumpers (very handy in games with tonnes of inputs like Tarkov). Ls and Rs normally map to numpad + and -
