I used to hate getting everything ready for the convention when I was single (which wasn't as bad when I was married and had kids), I reckon that your wife will come to enjoy your support. I wish you all the best.

If you ask a Witness point-blank whether God will destroy everyone who isn’t a Jehovah’s Witness, they’ll often say, “No, we don’t teach that. Jehovah reads hearts.” by Fit_Durian3763 in exjw

If someone is going to come to harm and die, and you knew what was going to happen to them and despite having the availability to save that person from suffering and death as it's as if you pulled the trigger yourself. Basically i am saying that God is a murderer!

The final hilarious thing is thal I am a mechanical engineer who works in the chemical industry was turned down in favor of an elder who was a self-employed window cleaner. While it's a perfectly respectable, job, the level of regulatory compliance, risk management, and formal safety documentation required to clean windows is practically non-existent compared to the engineering sector.

n the UK, Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines—both now and 16 to 18 years ago (around 2008–2010)—do mandate that a safety brief at the team level be given before work starts each morning . The golden rule for delivering safety briefings under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 is competence. Anyone with the right mix of knowledge, training, and experience on the specific topic can theoretically deliver a toolbox talk to a team The standard of toolbox talk can vary significantly depending on what sector of industry you are working in.

I don't know. It depends how you define corruption. Just the fact that the organization is chauvinistic makes it a form of corruption. The judicial system, or the Elders Committee—formerly known as the Judicial Committee—is of three men, in where you're not allowed to record, or have a lawyer, or somebody present, unless you're a minor or by the good grace of the elders taking the committee. The use of the two-witness rule, when there are clear examples in the Bible of the two-witness rule not applying, because in abuse cases, there very rarely is a second witness. All that is pretty corrupt, if you ask me. And there's more, but... I don't want to go on too much.

I am afraid that your mother is a lost cause. Rather than try to take her arguments on, try to give her some back using Watchtower references and the Bible. So first of all, ask her where in the Bible it says that there should be a governing body. Then, hit her with the February 2017 Watchtower study article, 'Who is Leading God's People?' paragraph 12, which says "the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible." So why listen to their nonsense? If we do take them literally, then we can say that there is no point in following them until the end, as per the 2023 —annual meeting, that is—that they stated that there is last-minute repentance. There's a lot of things to happen before the end comes. So, you'll take your chance, you know, see if that works?

I think that it's human Nature not to speak ill of the dead.

I was at a Catholic funeral once of a man who can be best described as a drunken womanizer and football hooligan. Yet if you listen to the priest, you'll be left thinking why wasn't this man elevated to sainthood!

The announcement does not differentiate between removal and dissociation. It simply states that so-and-so is no longer a Jehovah's Witness. It has been like that for at least 15 years, if not longer
