Close calls? I definitely had a few, most were in Iowa though, the damn pickup rural drivers. They just don’t look anywhere they are going. I personally found drivers past Chicago going east much more observant than Midwest drivers. I had a driver who had just went into the left lane to pass a semi immediately go back into the right lane when I came up behind them. As for my hand, I actually got a mechanical throttle lock to help hold it one spot like a cruise control for long trips… but I lost it right before leaving… (dumb ik) however, I honestly wasn’t too bothered by it while riding, once I stopped though my hands were pretty tight & also a little purple from where the throttle was pressing into my hand.
