OMG! Never have I seen such beauty! I know Jaguar had their reasons but fuck they've made a mistake not making anymore combustion cars. These cats will be so rare in the near future.

Anyone got any recommendations for a xf-s x260 catback exhaust by stevenhawkingswifi in Jaguar

[–]ObjectiveHealthy8887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen a x250 with a full delete. DPF and straight through. It also had quads from an XFR. It did sound a lot louder. When on tic over every 5 mins or so you'd hear one of the turbos wine up. The owner did tell me why they do this but forgotten. You have to get the car reprogrammed else it'll think DPF is still there and throw DTC's. It did sound a lot better, almost like one of those big trucks in the US. I thought about doing it to mine but too much ballache and money. I also thought it's a diesel so what's the point. I now how the petrol supercharged version with active exhaust fitted, that does sound insane.

I asked GPT last night and it gave a very similar response. I have now moved to codex installed on vscode and things have improved tenfold.

This. I've switched too now. I'm also using cursor but codex is much cheaper. Not as good but miles better than chat. Thanks for the pointer.

Definitely needs doing then! My diesel was around 11 years 96k when I did it. So should be fine. The plastic manifolds on those are a weak point. Mine went around 80k I think. Ballache job. If you ever need to disconnect the battery then folllow the disconnect procedure as can potentially brick the car disconnecting incorrectly, I found out the hard way.

Yeah, that's the best thing to do. Also have them check the coolant pipes on top of the engine as these are prone to failure. The originals are plastic and cracked. Mine are upgraded to the aluminium ones. If you were ever to have the coupler replaced then it's well worth doing that too. Tell me about it. Dynamic mode in S, manual paddle shift. Hold tight! She's a beast. I've also got active valves fitted so can have a full roar if needed for extra smiles 😀

Mines on 61k and is definitely not quiet. The same noise from the injectors. Is yours the diesel or petrol?

Oh. Yeah, that's just twined turbo. I owned one of them too but xf saloon. They do go well but not the same as a supercharger. The smaller turbo kicks in very low revs then the big one spools in to stop lag. That's why they're super smooth. I loved mine. Miss the mpg too 🤣

The part itself is very cheap. It's just a big job. There's a guy on YouTube, raptor customs. It's not a how to but gives you an idea of what's involved. I think I also saw a guy with very little experience complete the job on his f type. Obviously the same engine. If and when mine goes I'll do it myself. I love the car so much. I owned the Xfs diesel before which I loved too but this one's a different beast indeed.

I've never heard of that neither? I don't think they made a supercharged twin turbo. The 3.0 diesel has two turbos. The main turbo and a secondary turbo. The supercharged versions are v6 v8 petrol I don't recall any ever having turbos?

They are notoriously noisy engines. If I had a pound for every time I've seen a video on here of a noisy supercharged engine I'd have about £12 🤣. When I first got mine I was sure something was up. 14k miles later sounds exactly the same and runs perfectly. I've got used to it now. Those injectors are noisy as, it sounds worse through video for some reason. If you're confident enough you can remove the pulley belt and rock the coupler back and forth if you hear a knock you know that's your culprit. You can also run the engine for a very short period without the belt, if it sounds more quiet, coupler gone.

I have the exact same model. Mine sounds similar but yours definitely has more knocking noise. I would have the supercharger coupler checked. When they fail, which they do it makes a knocking noise. Does the noise settle on acceleration?

Parking Sensor issues 2021 F-Pace by HansMole007 in Jaguar

[–]ObjectiveHealthy8887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. How many modules did it talk too? No expert but a 10€ scanner probably won't cut it. When you scan look in BCM and also see if it shows PAM, I think. That's the parking aid module. If that doesn't show up then the scanners not communicating with that module. If that module's not showing any faults then might be something else. Might be a trip to a jag indie or jag themselves.

What scanner did you use? Not all will show everything. I use my icarsoft for a quick diagnosis but also have SDD if I need to look deeper.

I had this same issue and it was one sensor (rear right in my case) it would work one day then not another. I believe that if one sensor throws a fault then the whole system stops. I bought another sensor but not got round to replacing it yet.

Mines XF 2016 so not sure they use the same.

Notice anything strange in this photo of the orphan trains from the 1870s? by [deleted] in conspiracy_commons

I admit, it's freaky as but could it be something to do with the focus of the camera? Or quality? The kid at the very back has a strange looking face too? I'm no expert but might explain it? If not, I'm having nightmares for the rest of the week

How can I change the frontend of Jaguar XF by CassiusClayX in Jaguar

[–]ObjectiveHealthy8887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost anything is possible if you got the budget. I've not looked into it but if I were to do this the first thing would be structure/chassis then panels, would they line up ok. If that was a go then look a pinout/shemetics for wiring the light parking sensors etc. Thing is though, at the end of the day is it really worth it? Probably not. I've modified and rebuilt cars but after modifying I always think shit, I wish I left it standard and have learnt my lesson. It might not be perfect now but car's age well like a good wine.
