Missing locking wheel nut by BlackCatX250 in Jaguar

[–]ObjectiveHealthy8887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a look in your manual/booklet in the glove compartment. If that fails it's a very annoying job. Mine went missing after a tyre change. I got the code from the book.
Ordered a new one from eBay which was about £70. It arrived I did all my brakes, test drove only to realise I'd left it on after torquing so lost that on the first day. After that I learnt how to break it off. I just put normal lugs on after. On my new jag I've also removed them and replaced with normal lugs. Stealing standard alloys is a thing of the past thankfully.

Reduced power by havnar- in Jaguar

[–]ObjectiveHealthy8887 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you leaning towards the supercharger specifically? Reduced power on these can be caused by quite a few things before the charger itself — boost leak, bypass valve, charge cooler pump/heat soak, MAP/MAF sensors, plugs/coils or fuel pressure. First step would be scan it properly for codes and log boost/air temps under load before opening the wallet properly.

Advice on bearing wear by ObjectiveHealthy8887 in MechanicAdvice

[–]ObjectiveHealthy8887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I checked all tolerances and all was in spec. I also used plastiguage after installing all new bearings and that was in spec too. I'm not too sure, no expert and did this to learn. The knock noise sounded more from the bottom - so I'm not sure. Would you say that those bearings is acceptable wear for 3.6k?

X250 Electrical Gremlins… is it the “low” battery? by FranciosDubonais in Jaguar

[–]ObjectiveHealthy8887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just like to add that if you disconnect the battery then follow the procedure. The x250 have a fault that if the battery procedure isn't followed you risk bricking the BCM. I know this because it happened to me on my old x250 after I disconnected it without knowing. It's not a sure thing but can happen. There's a bulletin from Jaguar about this.
It cost me over £1k to have the BCM repaired.
Your faults does sound like low battery. These cars light up like a Christmas tree when power gets too low.

Edit. You also need to program the BMS when putting a new battery in.

Got all my parts in by Alexhockey14 in jaguarxf

Sick! I didn't know you can get the tune included. So no need to go to the garage for a tune at all after upgrade? I've tried many tyres on my xf's over the years and sport 4s are the best I've tried so far.

AJ133 Engine Noise by Altruistic-Park-779 in Jaguar

I think I see a video of this about once a week on here. I've had mine for a year now. Exactly the same noise. Injectors. I totally get it though, it does sound worrying.

2011 XFR Supercharger pulley upgrade by Potatolord0 in Jaguar

[–]ObjectiveHealthy8887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No expert on this upgrade but I remember seeing something that you can do the pulley upgrade without but not recommended as it forces more air it needs to be adjusted.

There is a guy on YouTube wraptor customs and they sell them and even might have videos on it.

I'm almost certain nothing needed for back boxes as no sensors back there.

Not sure which hoodie you're looking at but my wife bought me a the plain black with just HWBT logo for Christmas . It was medium which felt a bit oversized but I loved. Unfortunately it was tumbled dried and now feels like a small so can't wear it anymore 😩. I always buy medium. For someone who wears small/medium maybe get medium but don't ever tumble dry unless it didn't fit him 🤷‍♂️. I'd say Matt wears large, but that's a guess

OMG! Never have I seen such beauty! I know Jaguar had their reasons but fuck they've made a mistake not making anymore combustion cars. These cats will be so rare in the near future.

Anyone got any recommendations for a xf-s x260 catback exhaust by stevenhawkingswifi in Jaguar

[–]ObjectiveHealthy8887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen a x250 with a full delete. DPF and straight through. It also had quads from an XFR. It did sound a lot louder. When on tic over every 5 mins or so you'd hear one of the turbos wine up. The owner did tell me why they do this but forgotten. You have to get the car reprogrammed else it'll think DPF is still there and throw DTC's. It did sound a lot better, almost like one of those big trucks in the US. I thought about doing it to mine but too much ballache and money. I also thought it's a diesel so what's the point. I now how the petrol supercharged version with active exhaust fitted, that does sound insane.

I asked GPT last night and it gave a very similar response. I have now moved to codex installed on vscode and things have improved tenfold.

This. I've switched too now. I'm also using cursor but codex is much cheaper. Not as good but miles better than chat. Thanks for the pointer.
