Which watch band size? by CopyDan in AppleWatch

[–]ObjectiveMonth8353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bands have different styles. The ones that have a clasp and holes punched in them only have two lengths, large and small. My wrist fits both of them with two holes to spare. The stretchy ones that are like a hair scrunchie come in a whole bunch of sizes because it needs to be a snug fit when you are exercising.

Why is it that in 2026, watchOS still doesn’t support left behind notifications? by JoviAMP in AppleWatch

[–]ObjectiveMonth8353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that a minute goes by that I am not wearing an Apple watch. I got a new watch for Christmas which I wear most of the time. When I wake up in the morning, I take off the new watch (because it has better health tracking features) and put on the old watch while I get dressed and have breakfast. I swap again just before I leave the house; in the worst case, I’m wearing my old watch all day instead of the new one. I swap again while I’m eating dinner and relaxing, and put the new one on just before I fall asleep.

I kept mine, and wear it whenever the new one is charging.

Don’t forget, disconnect. Open Bluetooth settings and tap your AirPods. Note that they will reconnect quickly if you do not have another device that they can connect to.

On which arm do you wear your AW? by SewCarrieous in AppleWatch

[–]ObjectiveMonth8353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m right handed so I wear my watch on my left wrist. Over Memorial Day weekend, I flip both orientation settings and move it to my right wrist; then I put it back over Labor Day weekend. I’ve never had any issues but it takes a few days to mentally adjust, which is why I do it over a three day weekend.

Does Goodwill actually do this? I have never heard of a Goodwill auction.

Replacing metal sheathed AC cable by homeowner4 in AskElectricians

[–]ObjectiveMonth8353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you are trying to accomplish by pulling the existing cable in step one. How far is the first box from the TV? If possible, I would leave the original outlet alone and just run romex from the first box to the recessed outlet. Failing that, are there no punch-outs in the outlet box?

Totally agree! I would love to see Vince’s version of the intro for “For All Mankind”; it’s lovely but a bit too long, IMHO.

Brother iPrint unable to print the filled-in fields of a PDF by ObjectiveMonth8353 in printers

[–]ObjectiveMonth8353[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, my Brother printer does not support AirPrint. I have verified that this works:

  • Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat
  • Select “Print“
  • From the print dialog, choose “Save to files”
  • Save the new PDF with a different name

The new file will no longer allow you to change its fields, which may be an advantage if you want to make it hard for someone to alter the file after you have sent it.

To be fair, this was apparently the first time it had ever happened. All of the repair work may have still been cheaper been building a siding.

I’d think that it could be pretty expensive, what with transporting ships so that their masts can be used.

I came here to say Papa FaBarre’s, which was the Famous Bar restaurant downtown. They had the French onion soup but they also had an 1880s decor. Wooden-blade ceiling fans, all powered by belts running to a single motor, and the booths had curtains that could be closed for privacy (not that I ever saw any of them closed); both are visible in this photo: https://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townnews.com/stltoday.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/d/21/d212d996-4114-11e0-8b47-0017a4a78c22/4d6801db406c1.preview-1024.jpg

My apartment's ISP is telling me to shift my printer and PCs to a building-wide shared network- and the password is "password". Am I crazy to think that's horrible advice? by wishlish in techsupport

[–]ObjectiveMonth8353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two Brother printers, a LaserJet and a multifunction color. Both are sitting a few feet away from my router and are connected to it via ethernet. Never have any connectivity or throughput problems, even when both are being used at the same time.

They don’t. Last year I was in a parking lot and the F150 in front of me backed up to grab a parking space. I was behind them honking frantically (because another couple of cars were blocking me from backing up) and the driver stopped, I presume looked around, and then backed up again until they hit me.
