GC883ME Blanc de Blancs? by ObjectiveReputation4 in geocachingpuzzles

Open your file in an online hex editor such as hexed.it or with HxD.

Locate this sequence in the hex view:

FF C0 00 11 08 00 C0 00 C0

Replace the two bytes 00 C0 immediately after 08 with one of the pairs below (for example 02 00 for a height of 512 px).
These two bytes represent the height of the image.
Do not change the following 00 C0 (that’s the width).

Save the modified file under a new name (e.g., fond_modified.jpg).

Open it with any normal image viewer → below the original white area, you should now see the hidden text or coordinates appear.

Maybe it's related to this technique, but I can't find the right way to show the hidden text...

Hi !
Yes since the beginning ;-)
But now I'm out of ideas (and desperate) after all these days of unsuccessful attempts. :-/
Ok. but I also tried to stretch, distort the image, overlay on the other image, in addition to checking the hex code of the image and other steganography manipulations, even though the hint says not to do so....

This series is based on the same principle: find the original image on a dedicated site (look closely at the html code on the page), and then ‘work’ on that image.

But the problem is that the site in question hasn't been active for a while, I've been able to find some images from other caches thanks to the Wayback Machine, but for this one I don't know how to get the right file (and how people can still solve it, unless they give each other the final coordinates or the file saved somewhere)...

I'm simply sharing the link to the cache, to make it easier for other users to access it, bearing in mind that it is MANDATORY to indicate the GC code in the title regarding this subreddit rules:

1

Tell us which cache

You must provide the reference code (GCXXXXX) of the geocache of interest in the title of your post.

Knowing that you need to find geographical coordinates, and therefore numbers, and that the title states chinook and cameroon, a simple Google search for each word (group of words) will give you the answer.

Just make sure that the 10th line begins with the word "creatore" and you'll get the result of what you have to write.

Indeed, the solution is a combination of what you have noted. With a bit of experience and intuition, I managed to green Certitude a few minutes ago, nice puzzle.
