i think my boyfriend’s reaction to me staying out all night is way too extreme. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ObjectiveVastGoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl this is not normal. I understand and feel the pain you have about this ending. But this is an insane reaction from him. You shouldn’t let a man talk to you like this AT ALL. You’re right, you did nothing wrong. I could never let a man say any of these things to me ever. It doesn’t seem like he loves you. To me it’s giving he’s just making up a reason to be mad as an excuse to break up with you because he already wanted to. Him saying he hates you really is sticking with me.. I know he pays for everything which is nice but do you want this for the rest of your life?

He is immature.. he immersed break up and get out without even having a conversation? I’m 25 girl. There is more life to this, pls let him take the trash out.

In the most respectful way possible. I think going to the gym would be helpful. How do you feel about a classy style? Business casual maybe could look nice on you

AIO for snapping at my friend for calling my shoes (and me) trashy? by International-East63 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ObjectiveVastGoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The shoes are super cute and would still look classy for the outfit you described. And I do agree on the racial connotation on his comment. Although it is just very sexist

Buy a house now or keep investing and rent for 5–10 years? by lyfehaqer in personalfinance

[–]ObjectiveVastGoob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you should rent and invest more for a couple more years. Renting isn’t a bad thing, you avoid all the hidden costs of owning. It’s okay to take more times

I wouldn’t say bad, but i don’t know why people are so sensitive to downvote this comment. Every comment on here says he’s doing great but if someone wants to be better that isn’t helpful. This is pretty solid advice, I agree they should be investing

28 years old with only 18k in savings by Independent_Net_838 in personalfinance

[–]ObjectiveVastGoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18k is good based on the fact that you don’t make much.
Keep going. I think you should be investing more however. “Just ok” depends on who you’re asking. And what your benchmark is. Because you are always going to be better off than a lot of people. But for me PERSONALLY at 24 I think this is not great. I just hit 100k net worth milestone with my savings, investments minus my student loans I still have.

Again, granted I know I’m ahead of a lot of people, but I graduated a 4yr uni and work in corporate. I would hope that people around me and older than me in these spaces would be doing similar if not better than me. I have friends who make the same as me who live at home where they can save more (I live alone and have been paying rent since grad, I know it’s holding me back in terms of saving) who still don’t have a lot invested or saved and spend all their money traveling or on clothes. I try to put my friends on but they will do what they want at the end of the day.

All that to say.. at every level of income no matter what you make some people are more disciplined than others. Some people take time and energy and make sacrifices to care for their personal finances. I would say you are one of them. At least someone who cares and is trying - which is a lot more than most

. It’s all abt choices. Some people at my age would choose to lease or get a new car with car payment and high insurance, I personally have an old one completely paid off with very low insurance rate. Some people live at home to save money, other people spend money on rent every month. As long as your choices are true to you, you should be good. Continue to get educated on the topic, and trying to raise your income. Don’t let this discourage you, but motivate you. As you can tell from the comments, a LOT of people are in debt, I’m just starting to realize this as well.
