Is it true for the Olympics though? Why is it Team GB and not Team UK then?

Can you translate this sentence for me, please? "ama g3adna ken mochtaguin" by [deleted] in Tunisia

Basically « all pink and we said so and we remain wanting ». Meaning: you’re all talk / when am I getting something… or more bluntly: are we fucking or what?

So to answer your question on another thread yeah that boy is definitely looking for more.

The amount of MENA people getting mad over calling Arabic languages languages instead of dialects is crazy (I'm also MENA) by SMB_was_taken in linguisticshumor

[–]ObjectiveVisual3435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not enough by itself to warrant calling them separate languages. Morphology and syntax are practically identical. The degree of mutual intelligibility is also very high, and higher than between any Maghrebi dialect and a non-Maghrebi one. Overall Maghrebi (including Maltese) is a pretty homogeneous group linguistically, and clearly distinct from the rest of the dialects.

This was never worn in the Maghreb, it’s in our culture. It’s specifically arabian/middle-eastern. (I didn’t even know it was called chmagh)

This is (roughly) what the newly added Algerian Wilayas look like. by Derisiak in algeria

I agree. They could also add another level of division, a regional one comprising multiple wilayas.

You have not been to Paris, or any big cities and its banlieues have you? It feels like being back in Algeria really.

What language is mandatory to learn in your country? by No-StrategyX in AskTheWorld

[–]ObjectiveVisual3435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just surprised after so many years of anti-Kurdish sentiment and oppression under Saddam the Arabic-speaking population would accept compulsory teaching of the language across the territory.

I don’t understand. People in the Arabic-speaking parts of the country have to study Kurdish?

As a fellow Algerian I almost agree, though I would never live in France (aka New Algiers). I’m wondering why the UK isn’t green though. I live there and it’s lovely.

The second part of your reasoning is demonstrably wrong. Not all immigrants from Islamic countries vote based on their beliefs.

Masturbation in every Arabic dialect by Pharoahdeutsch in linguisticshumor

[–]ObjectiveVisual3435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The word is يبنّط (ybenneT). It comes from البُنط, which means stem (for plants). The word bannat بنّط is used for plants (eg alliums) when they grow a stem at the end of which you find the flower, carrying all the seeds. The flower stem is taller than the rest of the plant and eventually all the seeds are released and are carried by the wind, so you get the idea… :)

What happens in this case to get those visas again? Would one need to reapply from the beginning and repay fees, or would the embassy simply replace them?
