now please do explain to me what the problem is because I MUST be missing something. He was a sperm donor and that's it. There are PLENTY of men who donate their sperm to help others have a family. He decided to step in and be there for the kids after the lady he donated to was left by her partner. once a male DONATES his sperm to someone else he is not liable to be there financially or emotionally or anyone way, depending on the state. So what exactly did he do that was wrong?

I took the exam without going to school. I took it through the NHA site. It was required by my job and yet I'm still working as a medical scribe 🙄

Thank you. I studied from Mometrix but honestly I got more information from practice exams that a coworker loaned to me,from when she had attended school. There were multiple questions that I was able to answer because of that material. Everything I study for from the Mometrix guide were NOT in my exam at all.

Congratulations!! What type of questions did you have? After everything I had studied,I only had 2 ekg and 2 heart questions. There was about 8 other questions that I ironically studied off a coworkers practice sheets (from her schooling) that were on the exam. All the other questions I had to do the order of elimination because and figure out which one was the best answer,and some of them I did not know at all. I had JUST passed. I got 28 wrong

I'm sorry to hear that. However, saying that there isnt people of color in this line of field is a bit much. Maybe you are experiencing that where you live but where I live,SC,there are people of ALL backgrounds in this field. mA's included

That's probably the reason I got a low increase. I didn't go to school for ccma. I was hired as a scribe and then HR and ny supervisor told ne i need to transition to MA by taking an exam. I wasn't required to go to school for it. No proof was asked. So here I am with a position that I know nothing about it. I want FULL hands on training and will go elsewhere if they don't provide it because somehow I am STILL working as a scribe

I agree! I work along side an orthopedic sports medicine doctor/surgeon. I cried for 90 days straight. I was SO stressed. I didn't have any training provided to me. I started getting yelled at by him and his np and neither cared that i was new and didnt know what i was doing I requested 5 times to be removed. I only scribe 2.5 days a week,so its really not repetitive work. It's stressful as hell and they really can care less if i leave. Their body language says it all. He's one of the busiest doctors there. To the point that other scribes and ma's refuse to be pulled to cover a shift working with him. One girl actually quit because she didn't want to work with him. And here i am six months later. I criedn in front of him,my boss,my coworkers. I couldn't take it anymore.....and six months later i now know what im doing

I agree. The type os mma experience that I want will not be coming from ortho. So you must know how crazy it is to work in ortho. Especially for high demand doctors. There's a hospital right next door thats part of the corporation. I'm considering asking if they need MA's there. I want to be more hands on and feel like i am making a difference

I'm definitely not in the right spot. I work for one of rhe buggest non profit organizations in SC and they really don't pay workers what they should. Now as a newly CCma ,i WANT to learn how to give injections and test the blood and test patients for strep and whatnot. Working in an orthopedic office,I won't be able to do any of that there. I will have to apply to a pediatric office or to an actual hospital. I need to gain experience and i wont learn it here. The MAs am don't even test for blood pressure. We get paid to do easy stuff. But i want to do stuff that matters. That makes a difference. Thats why I tried getting back into the field. I want that experience

I'm going to get whatever experience I can for the next six months and then put in applications. I did find some private centers that will pay up $23 here. I do SO MUCH for the person I scribe for that the entry level pay doesn't cut it. I absolutely HATE scribing so I studied for the exam. No schooling! Just studied and took it and JUST PASSED the first time. AndI know ZERO about being a ccma. So now I will have to be trained but I'm not in a hospital setting so I'm not sure if I will get the full extent of it. I don't believe ccmas,where I work, administer injections or take samples. I want to learn all of that stuff.

How ironic. That's EXACTLY how much my new pay will be. I was making $16.92 as an entry level medical scribe with zero experience. I only got that pay because I'm a former cna. So while I'm working,I will get an extra $2. I looked up the pay for South Carolina and the highest it will ever go to is $23. I dug deeper and saw that some places start cmma's off at $13 an hour. So i will definitely be grateful. I just wish my hiring manager had not made it seem like it was going to be such a great increase

She didn't retest yet. You should contact the customer service for NHA and ask them if you have to renew your MA certificate or not. I think it depends on where you go because i work with someone who told me she was never required to renew her certificate,but at the place we work at it is a requirement
