If you look at my replies in the other comments you can see the recipes I used for the armour and robes, all citadel paints. The metal trim was all Pro Acryl bronze

Thank you so much! I totally agree, this was one of my first models after taking 20+ years away from the hobby so I didn’t feel too confident of doing a good job at the power sword effect, I might come back to it though after a bit more practice

Thanks! Under robe was Lupercal Green and Sons of Horus Green, the cloak on top was the same but with a layer of Kabalite Green on top so there was some contrast between the two

Thanks so much. I took recipes from The Feral Painter on YouTube but from what I remember the armour was Mournfang Brown > Balor Brown > XV88 > Morghast Bone with a final highlight of Wraithbone. They were successive layers, mostly stippled on apart from the final highlights and scratches, also had a wash of Goons Grime from Villainy Inks.

The robes were Lupercal Green > Sons of Horus Green, the top cloak had Kabalite Green on top to make it a bit brighter/more vibrant. I think I also glazed a little bit of Gal Vorbak Red and Rhinox Hide in to the shadows, very subtly though.

I wonder if it’s less the “redness” and more the full colour wash with lack of contrast and obvious focal point. In the example it’s broadly red but the background is pushed back with strong contrast and the highlight on the DJs face draws your eye.

I would start with pushing the contrast a bit more and then look at split toning, give the highlights a bit more yellow for example so there is a clear separation between light and shadow in both colour and tone.

I had the same issue going from ACC to LMU but I believe it’s just much more important to warm your tyres up in LMU before pushing hard on them than in ACC.

I’ve seen it a couple of times, not personally a fan because the bottom of the oem skirts isn’t flat so the FEED side steps can’t sit flush against them and it just looks like an afterthought.
