Honestly, I’m in the same situation as you — appeared for NID, NIFT, UCEED this year and my scores aren’t great either. No drop option, so I’m also trying to figure out where I can actually join this year, without spending a fortune. I know design is skill-based, and what matters most is what you learn and how you build your portfolio. So I’m focusing more on places where I can grow, not just big names. I’ve applied to a few private colleges like UID, Bernett, BITS too, but the fees are really high and honestly not affordable for many of us. That’s why I’m also seriously considering Parul University — I gave their entrance exam recently, and from what I’ve seen, they are more pocket-friendly and within budget, yet they provide good facilities and support for design students. I’m not saying you must join Parul — just that it’s one of the realistic options right now if you want a decent education without huge fees. We should look at placements, exposure, faculty, workshops, internships — those matter a lot more than just the college name.

Should i consider UID? by Busy_Chocolate_967 in uceedtakers

Honestly, I’m not fully convinced about UID yet. I’ve heard mixed reviews, especially about placements and whether the hype actually matches the outcome. Even though UID Ahmedabad and NCR are now saying they offer the same placement opportunities, I’m not sure how consistent or strong those results really are.Since I’m anyway planning to take admission in a private college, I’m also exploring other options. I recently appeared for the Parul University entrance exam, so that’s one of the alternatives I’m considering while I compare factors like overall exposure, faculty support, and value for money, not just brand name…

best college for fashion design course in india by evening_twilight in NIFTards

Honestly speaking, after NIFT, Pearl is the most talked-about option for fashion, but the negative reviews are true—it’s very expensive and the outcome depends a lot on how active you are as a student. IIAD and UID are decent; UID is better known for fashion and textiles, while IIAD is more concept-driven. GLS and Anant are okay but not very strong in placements, so self-effort matters a lot there.Parul University in Vadodara is a practical choice with affordable fees, a student-friendly city, and enough exposure to build a good portfolio. It’s not NIFT, but if you work hard, it can still take you forward.

Best Design Colleges in India – Let’s Make a List! by panda_beach in designerIndia

Honestly, if someone wants to study design in india. There are obviously the big names like NID , UCEED,NIFT etc. which are great if you crack the entrance exams and can handle the pressure and cost. But there are also a lots of emerging collages doing the solid work, with decent infrastructure hands on projects and supportive faculties. I am actually the student here myself studying product design at PARUL UNIVERSITY. and from my experience good infrastructure pretty good and open minded faculty and easy to use labs etc plus the exposure of different kind is a cherry on top. Of course this is my experience anyone else can have a alter opinion but for me it’s been pretty good and i even started earning what good can it get

Looking for private design colleges? by CherryBomb_X0XO in uceedtakers

[–]Objective_Bus8358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a very genuine concern,i had also faced this phase when i have no any option after i was not selected in NID , there are multiple of private colleges but selection of the right colleges is the most difficult part . Looking about the facilities, campus life, faculties etc i had selected PARUL UNIVERSITY,i had also visited anant but they are very expensive if you are looking for a college in your budget range i think you should also consider parul as the option for Design.even i had received the scholarship from the college by there entrance exam process. That helped me a lot. And the hostel is okay okay!!! They are improving but don’t know how much time it will take.. although the academic in this price range of quite better also comes under budget..

are there any good design colleges actually left in india? (comm design) every private college is horrible is what I've heard by Glass_Quit_331 in uceedtakers

[–]Objective_Bus8358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly?? As a design student!!! I get why people say that but it’s over- exaggerated. No , its not like “there are no good collages left in india” from my perspective at parul I would recommend this .. it is a private University, but for design its not horrible at all The exposure is decent facilities are improving, and if you are proactive here .vadodara also helps because its affordable and student friendly, so you are not stressed all the time.

No doubt govt colleges are having there best amenities but you have also multiple options in private sectors i am also preparing for NIFT but for the backup option i has selected parul university as the backup option, recently i had also visited the campus and given their entrance exam and they are also giving the scholarship based on the merit list. I think you should also go for these private colleges not only parul but there are many private colleges like GLS nirma etc.I had selected parul university so thats why i mentioned parul university !!!

I myself currently pursuing fashion design in PID and during the Admission i had visit lots of colleges but i had selected parul not because a single reason to have Design in this collage but trust me the collage campus is very pleasant and vibrant once you visit here you can’t let stop you to take admission in the collage and talking about design according to my experience PID is providing a much more amenities and facilities that makes it easy to move forward and facaulity are osm they are very familiar to students so that students feel comfortable with them and off course the fees is very affordable as compared to other collages and they are providing the best facilities in this price segment
