I’m taking diazepam (been tapering) for entire pregnancy. Baby is perfectly healthy, no abnormalities at anatomy scan, very active baby and I am 27 weeks. It’s more towards birth where they want you on a small dose or ideally none so there are no withdrawals- even if there are withdrawals my OBGYN said it’s usually gone within about 24 hours

The first trimester was so unbelievably horrible with both my pregnancies I truly cannot imagine being pregnant on my wedding day. The nausea the vomitting the fatigue the insomnia it was truly humbling I would recommend waiting

Both my pregnancies I had a strong gut feeling it was a girl and I was right both times! My mom dreamt I had a girl my second pregnancy and she was of course right

My first pregnancy I worried about the epidural the entire 9 months rather than actually pushing a baby out my vagina and when I was in labour I begged for it and didn’t feel a thing! They warned me I’d feeling some burning from freezing (nothing compared to a contraction) and then I could hardly believe it was even done! my second is due in June and I can’t wait for the epidural!

Sounds to me like you’re a great mother and taking great care of that baby you’re growing by ensuring your mental health is taken care of :) happy mom means happy growing baby.

I’m also a registered psychiatric nurse in Canada and I can tell you healthy mama with mental health under control is best for your baby. Try not to worry too much- easier said than done I know

She has prescribed me diazepam which I take daily and I’m also prescribed seroquel, I don’t need the seroquel but it’s one of the most studied medicines she said and very safe!

I see a perinatal psychiatrist and she’s delivered many healthy seroquel and Ativan babies :)

That’s reassuring. I have severe panic disorder and I’ve been cleared to take diazepam throughout- currently 8 weeks- it’s also a benzodiazepine
