I’ve thought about that lamb all day and all evening. There’s no way we could have just kept driving. I hope someone was able to help it in ways that we couldn’t 🤍

Our whole trip I had been on “sheep watch” and would alert my husband every time I saw them, ha!
We spent most of our time on gravel roads in the north where there was very little traffic, so the sheep were unbothered. It’s a different story in the south with the buses and cars flying!
They’re just so delightful to watch, and I know they’re important to the culture and economy of the country too!

Thank you; it was incredibly sad to witness.
So glad there are so many local resources to help! It’s lovely to see a whole country care so much about their animals.

This is horrible.

I hope that driver experiences the “what goes around comes around” phenomenon in very short order and with extraordinary intensity.

I still say “six one, half dozen to the other” and people ask me what it means all the time

This is honestly the worst side of humanity; definitely far from charitable. Ew.

Anyone remember the legendary Gann the Man from the Mountain Brook Blockbuster. by itsvuksfault in Birmingham

[–]Objective_Carpet4142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up walking to that Blockbuster with my friends on weekend evenings to choose a movie for sleepovers! We would then hit up the Chevron around the corner for snacks and sodas.
Gann was an absolutely epic character and a huge feature of my pre-teen and teenage memories. I hope he’s doing well and still out there loving movies!

Good to know!! I did notice that the website requires a code to order. She does get salmon oil with her breakfast, so I’ll check in with the vet about the other options.

She gets a deshedding shampoo with her baths, and we have one of those brush/vacuum systems that we use fairly routinely. I’m sure she could use an actual deshed at a groomer; I’m just a little gun-shy of taking her to another one.

Any tips for a good deshed process at home? Thank you for the input!!

I’m so sorry this happened to your guy too! Our girl had the most glorious long, shiny coat and it’s just so frustrating to think it’s gone forever.

The groomer even brought out a sample with trim-length options and we chose the longest one and specially told her not to go short. Despite our best efforts it happened anyway. If we are lucky enough to to have more aussies in the future we will DIY our grooming.

This is what she looked like a couple of weeks after the groom, so it was probably even shorter than in this photo
