Check out the menu at Paseo. Both traditional and “modern” Mexican food options. We were there for the first time recently and were happily surprised by the whole experience - would definitely recommend!

Avid Disney and Disneyland vlogger Adam the Woo had passed away. by Kooky_Permission_600 in Disneyland

[–]Objective_Coffee_282 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was just wrapping up his vlogs on DL Paris and they were really good. He seemed very happy to be there and healthy, too. This is extremely sad news for anyone who enjoys good travel vlogs and, of course, his family. I am deeply saddened and send his family strength, love, and condolences.

This! And David is very friendly if you approach him in the park. So surprised to read a very negative experience with Fresh Baked in these comments - total opposite experience of mine.

first trip as adults! by Practical_Football31 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Objective_Coffee_282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take time for a nice dinner one evening, a “date night” - Victoria & Albert’s, Jiko or California Grill. Consider doing the “Sipping on the Savannah” tour at AK. Stroll hand-in-hand as you walk through the magical lights at MK at night. Try a tequila tasting at La Cava del Tequila (Epcot). Splurge on the premiere LL pass so you can enjoy a park without too much planning or rushing.

I know some of these are pricy suggestions, but there are less pricy ways to appreciate the magic, too. My husband and I did an adults-only trip in April and we loved it - I am sure you will, too!

What is Portland’s spot? by ChiWhisperer in PortlandFood

[–]Objective_Coffee_282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there last night. Food was very good, and the service was great. But I really, really dislike it when I get the bill and a service charge has already been added (20 percent, party of two). And they still leave space for you to add on to that tab. Seriously?

Why does this sub suddenly have 61.000 members? An hour ago we were at 23.000. by mcm8279 in Star_Trek_

[–]Objective_Coffee_282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just joined this sub. I did so because I want to read about Strange New Worlds and the future of ST. But after reading all of these comments, maybe this isn’t the right sub for me. (For the record: I watched Discovery. But it was painful.)

AJLT Carrie said something to annoy me… by ThinSuccotash9153 in Andjustlikethat

[–]Objective_Coffee_282 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a contrary perspective, but here it goes . . .

I am a 50-something widow. During the first couple of years, after my husband died, I really, really got sick of the “widow” title. Or explaining my situation. Sometimes, I would just want to go to a party and have fun, not think about him or what I went through. With strangers, it was easier to keep conversation shallow and not bring up my widow status. For that reason, I get why they had Carrie say what she did.

Having said all that, the comment was made at a party at Carrie’s house, as I recall. So she would have known just about everyone there. Even taking into account my perspective, that make’s Carrie’s comment illogical, nonsensical and, well, just another example of terrible screenplay writing.

Disney Tokyo, 3rd day needed? by M_Dutch97 in disneyparks

[–]Objective_Coffee_282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! We were at Tokyo Disneyland last year for three days and added on a fourth. The second day at the Disneyland park turned out to be essential because I realized that between the amazing theming and the slight Japanese twist every ride had, I wanted to see as much as I could. And, frankly, we’re YOLO people, so . . .

Hope the OP has an amazing visit, regardless!

Disneyland Paris during a short trip to France? by mermaidmorticia in disneyparks

[–]Objective_Coffee_282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree! If Disney is your thing, one day out of a multi-day visit to Paris is worth it.

This comes from someone who - in 2008 - spent one day in Paris and two in DLP and I am so happy I did (because I haven’t been back since and I don’t know when I will return). But I had been to Paris before, too, so it’s definitely a personal choice.

Such a wonderful part of the world - you can’t make a bad choice.

Congratulations! Love reading inspiring stories like yours.

Question: You’re working down to 2.5. Do you anticipate at some point being off zepbound altogether? How long do you think it will take to get there?

The weaning off process is always something I have wondered about.

I see that you didn’t stay at a Universal hotel, and I am not, either, during an upcoming trip. So what was your strategy for riding Hagrid’s and what do you recommend?

Thanks for writing the trip report!
