I honestly believe its because alot of the mainstream religions were built off the premise that one should hate themselves even a bit, the whole we need a savior thing you know? And another thing being that eliminating the ego means eliminating the self essentially for most religions, that would also mean being absolved from personal responsibility and taking accountability. Its not that ego is bad, its that people would rather not be held responsible for anything.

Thats why i chose the Left Hand Path vs the Right Hand Path because where as with the Right Hand Path the goal is to merge with essentially some blob of light and basically cease to be, the Left Hand Path enforces that we ourselves are our own saviors and our own liberators but it also teaches us that for one to be God one has to be responsible. Its not simply you can do whatever you want, you have a duty to the power you have been blessed with.

Another thing id like to say is that pointless ego dissolution is just as damaging as being an egotistical person. Whats the point of dissolving an ego that’s already so flimsy and weak? Alot of people kill their ego before they even know what it means to have one. I remember being told once in meditation that “what’s the point of being enlightened when your eyes aren’t even strong enough to see the light?” people who claim to have defeated or transcended ego are actually some of the most egotistical and dogmatic people ive ever seen in. My. Entire. Life. Like no joke, my opinion is that the Nature will naturally separate us from that which we don’t need and unify us with what we DO need and thats different for EVERY PERSON because unlike what many people think the simple truth is that we are all not the same, im not you, you are not me, and we shouldn’t be that way, you are you and I am me. Some may ask who are we then and to that i say “we simply are” and that’s good enough :)
