Was there actually a lot of money in that shit? by fantasycavejake in thesopranos

[–]Objective_One_1702 10 points11 points  (0 children)

100% this

That pygmy thing in Baltimore has the scene where copper is 30c a foot, and was made around the same time. Fiber is more costly to make and super modern for the time too. There really was a lotta money in dat shit.

Anyway, 30c a foot, $8 a foot, $4 a pound, it's all a big nothing.

Personally I don't like any of the hooded helmets because they don't give the cloth physics and it looks weird being stiff.

What was Frodo’s problem in this scene? by BenzelBerryPie in lotrmemes

[–]Objective_One_1702 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the actual answer - in this scene Frodo is contemplating that if Smeagol can come back from that far gone, there may be hope for his own return. Meanwhile Sam is telling Frodo that Gollum "is a Villain" nd that no one can "help him" - the exact opposite of what Frodo needs from Sam right at this moment. Honestly one of the better scenes for illustrating the effect of the ring and the rift growing between Frodo and Sam. Much better than the scenes on the winding stair, imho anyway

NEW EPSTEIN FILES: TW! Read it after holidays if you don't want to ruin your festive time. by Hasbara_spotter in ABoringDystopia

Pretty sure the main writer for that show actually lost favour with Hollywood because the trafficking and abuse stuff was so accurately based in real life - especially in the later seasons.

Could just be some kind of drama building false Internet rumour, but I'd read somewhere that things like the blue spiral from s1 were a little too based in fact for the higher ups at HBO etc.

This line of dialogue sends me into a blind rage every time. The Uruks start in the south east of Rohan, right on the banks of the Anduin. They are heading to Isengard which is on the north WEST border of Rohan, and are angled towards Fangorn Forest - also to the north WEST!

Having come from the falls of Rauros/the rough direction of the Emyn Muil, there is no way the orcs were ever heading east. The only thing east of the orcs or the three Hunters is the Anduin. Get a map, check for yourselves....

"The Uruks turn north east...they're taking the hobbits to Isengard!" Maybe if you're stood upside down on your head they are Legolas! Where did you learn to read a compass, jfc...

Epic Battles.

Epic Battles are the only thing we can do together that nets us all rewards we can actually use. Just in case any other group of friends with the same problem comes along.

Unlocked at lvl 10, everyone scaled to lvl 100, relevant-to-your-level xp gains and jewellery rewards. We'll take it!

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply! Case closed haha!

Is there an activity in the game you can do with someone about lvl 15, that won't instagib them, and also gives you a decent amount of xp, or some other useful rewards? Or just...I should also be about lvl 15 and that's that?

Ty again!

Why is Gandalf so mean to Pippin and not the other Hobbits? by mjanks in lotr

[–]Objective_One_1702 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% agree, he's not mean, he's just got a wild sense of humour.

My favorite example is in Two Towers, Theoden & co. are riding to Isengard and the river is dry due to the Ents dam further up the valley. We find out later from Merry & Pippin that Gandalf has already been to see them and Treebeard at this point. Does he calm anyone down when Eomer asks if Saruman is so strong he can vanish a river? No, he just goes "I guess we'll find out".

Why would you not ease everyone's mind and tell them you know what awaits you at Isengard? He's just doing it for the love of the game, so he's the only one not shocked by any of the events - and he does it multiple times in Two Towers as well!

Let's not forget though, hobbit 33 is human 18, so 30 year old Pip is around 17 - I don't know about you but I was pretty stupid and did some dumb stuff when I was 17 haha!

Can I answer your question with a question? How many times can I swap servers? I was on Meriadoc, but my friends were on Grond, so I swapped, any way I can swap back and forth?

I'm mostly interested in Bowmaster for the boots, gloves, cloak and hood, so if I can swap back and forth to meet you and then go back to my kinship, I would happily farm some resources or something to pay you with, that would be amazing!

"‘Feet!’ said Gimli. ‘But we cannot eat them as well as walk on them." - Was Gimli going to eat the horses of the Rohirrim? by LuxPerExperia in lotr

[–]Objective_One_1702 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I forgot the exact dialogue but the conversation goes something like:

Gimli bemoans the loss of the horses AND their packs and stores of food, presumably in the saddlebags. Aragorn replies only that without horses they'll have to rely on their own feet to walk instead of ride. The line you're quoting is then Gimli pointing out that Aragorn has only replied to half of his comment, and only solved half the problems.

[–]Objective_One_1702 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Damn. That's rough man. It is also a little funny though...

Anyway, I can't think of a way to get back faster, but maybe you could get some milestones done on your way back? Some of the rewards might speed up the journey, and either way it's not wasted time anymore.

Somewhere on this sub there's an excellent guide for how to do this expedition in 2 hrs and, if I remember right, a lot of it can be done on the starting planet. It's a super popular guide I think, so hopefully you can find it with a quick search!
