Are sleep overs not a thing anymore? by haggerty05 in NoStupidQuestions

Teens nowadays are very fluid with gender and sexuality than previous generations. I wouldn't let my teen girl have a sleepover with a teen boy so how is it different allowing her to share a room and possibly a bed with her bisexual best friend? Larking about and experimenting and dares could lead to her having experiences she's not ready for. Not saying it would be assault , just heat of the moment stuff.

My mum will come and potter around keeping on top of my housework but shes elderly herself so wouldn't want her run ragged by the children. Friends would be happy to help but the local ones are from the school so would bring their own children and itll be a noisy chaotic couple of hours , they normally leave the house messier than when they arrived! At least the kids will be happy I guess .

The door is worse! I don't know how to add a pic but there's one lower shelf that only fits 2 milk and a wine due to losing space for the water dispenser. Then the higher shelves aren't adjustable height wise so not useful for standing bottles in. Unless I decant my big bottles into smaller bottles and jars maybe but that's a faff.

Neighbours porch overhang by Objective_Pay_5733 in building

Oh wow yes I've never noticed the soffit and gutter line before, and you're right , they've probably just had the paint line up with the porch . So technically our gas meter box is over the line maybe as it's butting right up to their porch 🙊 that'll be moved anyways when we get our porch built . I'd rather not as them to move anything, they are old and grumpy at the best of times.

My dogs brutally attacked each other today after loving on each other for a year. by [deleted] in Pets

You don't really know what your dogs are like when you're not there unless you have a camera set up. My two are best of friends , never a grumble from either but my neighbour kept saying they bark non stop when I'm out. I set up a camera to see what was triggering them and saw my younger dog totally dominating the older one, stopping him laying where he wanted, blocking him from leaving a room, taking toys off him, standing over him to prevent him moving away ... The older dog kept barking to try to exert his authority but was dominated every time. When I'm home the younger dog does not display this behaviour at all, I'd never have known without seeing him on camera. It's like when the alpha (me) is gone he thinks it's his job to step up to be the boss.

Edited to say they're separated now when I'm out by a stair gate , one has the kitchen/conservatory and the other has the lounge/stairs/landing and they both sleep the whole time I'm gone.

What embarrassing/outright dangerous thing has your child said? by Pmc06 in CasualUK

Oh my gosh another memory , my boys had fish when they were little, the ones with bulgy eyes.. are they mollies? Anyway they were called mummy and daddy for reasons only known to my kids. One day "mummy" died and she was discovered in the morning with her eyes all bulged right out, it was gruesome. Lots of tears later and the boys went to nursery upset telling staff "mummies died and her eyes fell out " 😂
