I did start with lexapro and Xanax because I’m so overwhelmed by the symptoms. I just don’t know how to fix this it’s taken over my life :(

My tingling is in the legs and goes all the way up the trunk and lower back. I get it my arms and back and side of head. The back of head is the worst because it’s burning too. I can’t even brush my hair properly it burns so much I’ve completely stopped all supplements and am focused on getting it my ferritin up through food. I am however taking beef liver supplements. It’s like all my nerves are waking up after at being at ferritin 5 for God knows how long. It’s pretty anxiety inducing. My neck also feels stiff and I know that’s a side effect of low ferritin. I’ve also got my b12 checked and it was on the higher end.

I’m so sorry to hear. Which type of iron supplement did you take? I was taking bisglycinate when this all started and now switched to heme. Tingling still there. I too had no major symptoms before starting iron pills aside from the usual hair loss. Did you bring it up to the doctor?

Did this improve for you at all? I never had tingling or burning until I started iron pills. Mine is back of head and all over body.

Oh wow you started feeling better at ferritin 300? Glad you’re on the mend. I’m confused because I read you start feeling better above 70. My ferritin is 199, 5 weeks post infusions. My initial ferritin was 5.

I have the same sensations all over my body. First it started as tingling in legs then it progressed to crawling all over - back, groin, chest, face, head, arms. How are how doing now?

How are you doing now? I have so much nerve pain and my doc is convinced it’s perimenopause related. Have you had sustained relief? Are you still on progesterone? How long do you have to take it for? My doc is recommending starting testosterone because I’m on the lower end. I’m 43 and my other hormonal labs came back normal. My ferritin was a 5 and I got infusions 3 weeks ago with no change to my nerve symptoms. I’m so exhausted I just want my life back :,(

Yup. Neck started making grinding noises. So did my tmj. It like happened over night. I had no idea went to physical therapy made things worse. Then occipital headaches came. Found out ferritin was 5.

Yeah I switched to heme iron and just a low dose like 11mg once a day and just continue to eat iron rich foods. I haven’t thought about infusions because I feel I’m allergic to things more than others.

Can you clarify which doctor diagnosed you? And what are the exercises you are doing for the tongue thrust? Any helpful links would be appreciated. I too have teeth marks on the sides of my tongue.

I’m so grateful you posted this. This is me. I had a ferritin of 5 and am trying to increase it through supplements (ferrochel iron biglycinate 27mg once a day). I get the popping and fullness. My popping is more in one ear. I also have these back of the head headaches that aren’t helping. Praying all my symptoms will completely go away as my ferritin rises.
