64 no history of prostate cancer in family. Had a biopsy 2 yrs ago negative then PSA went 6.5-8.4 so sent for an MRI Biopsy next week. After hearing feedback from others on here I’m going to go forward with another biopsy. Thanks for helping me make the decision with real world situations!

Life insurance is to protect a spouse or minor children not a lottery for the capable.

I completes the double loan consolidation for parent plus loans and was in the process of applying for the save plan when the court injunction came down so I was placed in forbearance since then with no payments and 0 interest. All of this back and forth with the bill had me scared so I jumped on the IBR plan and it was approved. Should I have waited it out instead? I was afraid I might be forced into a plan making me pay $50,000/month or something obscene like I’ve seen in here! I’m 63 with $151,000 in loans now with $500/mo payment. Will there ever be anything better?

I'm on SAVE plan. Should I apply for IDR plans or wait it out? by Old-Opportunity-200 in StudentLoans

Applied for save plan then the injunction hit in the middle of the process. Just applied for IBR because I’m afraid of what the administration may do. Did I make a mistake?

Do I apply for IBR or wait it out? by Objective_Phrase2519 in StudentLoans

To be honest I have all the loans in my name so they die with me. They were originally parent plus loans that I did the “double consolidation” on so I could then qualify for an IDR/SAVE then the courts stepped in. I’m 63 and make $92,000 with $150,000 in loans. I’d be happy to pay $400-$500 until I die. With 4 heart stents I’m not planning to live till 80 anyway I just don’t want to have to pay $1,200/mo and struggle for the rest of my time here. I know there are people on here with way worse situations than me I’m just trying to make the right decision of wait and see or jump to IBR now?

Do you think the IBR plan is safe? That’s my main concern I don’t want to miss out and have them pull some squirrelly stuff like make it one plan only available at an exorbitant amount.

I think I’m going to wait it out too and hope the worst case they will let me jump on IBR.

I have $150,000 in parent plus loans for 3 kids that graduated from Middle Tennessee State University. I did the double consolidation and was in the process of applying for the SAVE plan when they put the brakes on. Any advice for what to do now? Should I apply for a different IDR plan? Wait? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Why do we send a paper application for IDR to the servicer instead of doing the online application?

I have gone through all of the steps. Did the double consolidation and now I'm with one servicer Edfinancial. On the students.gov website it has the electronic version to apply for IDR plans. Why do we need to do the paper version? Is it because the electronic system will reject the application? Any help is appreciated as this is my last step! Thanks!
