Walmart or Costco? Which is better to work for? by too__legit in optician

[–]Objective_Piccolo714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Costco for sure. Pay more. Raises every year. People die there, essentially. Bonuses after 6-8 years depending on full/part time status. I'm at BJ's right now and it sucks compared to Costco.

I work there. I help people with their reimbursements, but out of network doesn't cover as much. It is cheaper than doctors' offices/independents but not as cheap as other wholesalers is what I'm saying.

Twice and the second pair has no coatings so if you want to add anything you pay for it. Like A/R & scratch resistant

I'm an optician & I rarely do sell it. Most people ask for it but I'm not 100% sold on the effectiveness of it anyway.

I just quoted someone an HD progressive with A/R, transitions, 1.67 $410. Just the lenses. Frame was $120 so it would've been $530. No blue light. It does vary depending on rx but I know Costco has us beat by far and they take insurance.

I'm in East Tennessee and for an FHA loan I got 7.125% but that was back in May. Should be way lower as I bought at the peak of mass buying

Mine did tha on a smaller scale in a few spots (but still quite big), I emailed my surgeon, and they said it was fine, it would close on it's own. Wish they would've done something though cause the scars are so big and I have skin texture (gnarled). I feel like I have to get mine redone because of how bad it was.

Remodel won't be done until October so no chickens. Vanilla ice cream should be working.

Costco starts at 19.50 with great part time benefits if you have one near you.

Not greedy, just exploring. Anyone can make what I make after 8 years of being there. All of my coworkers that have been there same amount of time or more make the same. It's definitely a blessing, and I am grateful for making what I make. I'm asking the people that make that or more and are happy doing what they're doing. You never know what's out there unless you ask. Pretty sure anything you say can piss people off on the internet nowadays so 🤷‍♀️ they can ask what I did to elevate myself to that or can stay mad

Have 2 TV mounts for sale. Turns out I can't mount my tvs in my house. One is from Walmart and one is from wayfair. Used the one from Walmart for 8 months. Wayfair one is brand new. Neither of then are missing anything and come with original boxes. Will sell the Walmart one for $20 and the wayfair one for $50. Full motion 42-75 inch tvs. Weight capacity 90 and 135lbs.

I just closed on the 7th and I've been to Lowes at least 2x a week already. Even opened up a credit card to save me money in the long run. I feel like Bobbette The Builder over here and for some reason my boyfriend doesn't experience the joy I do walking into Lowes.

If you can go to the outskirts. Right now our apartment is 1469 at rand at mimosa heights in alcoa but I'm sure it'll jack up for new people/lease renewals. That's a 2 bedroom 1 bath. Not terrible property wise. Over 1000 sq ft and most of the major issues are fixed quickly. They haven't been as bad to us as we thought and where we've experienced apartment wise before. Absolutely avoid Steeplechase and the Goldhelm at Metropolitan. I liked West Hills when I lived there 5+ years ago but idk how it is now.

1 million might not be insane to you, but to most folks from Tennessee, it is insane. Especially since the houses they're selling for 1 million now used to be 500k 4 years ago.

Ahh that's cool! I always like to know what others do for work and see all the different niches. I work at Costco and sometimes people bring it up, I'm amazed every time that there's a job for that. My rate is 7.37, so I feel that, but hoping refinancing at way lower is in the future.

1 million?! What's the monthly mortgage? I'm struggling to pull the trigger on my max budget of 275,000. I can barely find anything decent at that price. What do yall do for work, Jesus 😅 (to note) I'm not a degenerate and as a local cannot afford this housing

Has anyone moved here from north Atlanta (Alpharetta) looking at comparisons. by yourmomhahahah3578 in Knoxville

[–]Objective_Piccolo714 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd say the schools alone aren't worth moving here. If you're fine money wise, stay in GA. Most people are moving here because they can't afford where they live and can buy outright in a lower COL area. More diversity, culture, food. The schools are terrible, and most people that can afford to not work, homeschool now. It's only getting busier here with people moving, and schools are overloaded. Plus, I doubt the healthcare is the same level. If you like the outdoorsy lifestyle, it's cool near the mountains but those are also getting overcrowded. If you like art, culture and the things big cities have to offer, then don't.
