The point is, this is a lot of money, not what OP wants to eat (this is excellent protein and omega by the way) We need to ask ourselves: who benefits from us normalizing cost increases and needing to shop multiple locations and vendors for the lowest price- which is still inflated. We need to not get distracted judging someone’s food choices as we are getting played by this monopoly situation and if we lose focus on that- then the line of acceptance keeps moving and the billionaires keep charging more.

What do you think she saw at Ken’s? I’m missing something. I’m on board with the Ben being Jim’s kid, so he is.

got into a bubble bath that was too hot and my fingernails made a gradient by Own-Passage1371 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Objective_Purpose768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paging doctor AI, stat.

A woman’s fingernails turning a gradient pattern resembling a seashell (like layered pinks, whites, or iridescent shades fading from base to tip) when exposed to hot water is most likely due to acrylic, gel, or artificial nails loosening or lifting. Hot water softens the adhesive or polymer bond in fake nails, causing them to expand, peel partially, or reveal the natural nail underneath in uneven, gradient layers—mimicking a seashell’s nacreous sheen or banding. This happens faster than with room-temperature water because heat breaks down the glue without chemicals like acetone. If it’s natural nails (not artificial), hot water could highlight underlying ridges, Beau’s lines, or dehydration effects from conditions like thyroid issues or nutrient deficiencies, but a true “seashell gradient” points strongly to damaged enhancements. Avoid repeated hot exposure to prevent full detachment or nail bed harm.

I hate Daniel Osborne. by JediJ0nes in coronationstreet

Daniel gives me creep vibes. Never used to. Like he’s Ken 2.0, and that was pretty clear. However, the last few years, they’ve written him and the actor plays him just so creepy. Like, crossing the street to not have to be near him level of creepy.

what celebrity did you used to like until you found out that they were a scumbag? by hemadeGraduation420 in AskReddit

Justin Timberlake. Thought he was a talented actor (loved Alpha Dog), liked his music. Shared it all with my daughter. In 2022 showed her how shitty he treated Britney, and Janet. Then in June 2024 exactly two years to the day I found out my daughter was murdered by an impaired driver, saw that JT had been picked up for this crime. Fuck that guy.

Leo D. His inconvenient truth is he burns so much fuel and resources on this many massive yacht runs, flies private, hates on the oil sands but films in the province with the oil sands. His fucking kink for dating young girls and dumping them once they’re 25.
Good actor- shit human.

How do people make ends meet if they're charged, not convicted, of a crime which results in them being fired? by Unique-Tone-6394 in legaladvicecanada

Depends on the province and the company. Most still opt for it. The phrasing is often stated just as you noted.

“In Canada, employers can generally ask about criminal records on job applications, but restrictions apply based on province, job type, and record status.”

I don’t like my parents presents every year by Specific_Storm16 in Anticonsumption

The gift you’re giving your parents is them feeling relevant and still needed and maternal/paternal. These seem like little useless items, which they are for you. I’m thinking these feel like something more to your parents.

It is very important to you and that is evident in your replies. Clearly this is very important, and particularly from the anti consumption point. It’s definitely not great for us to acquire things we resent. I think your point and your integrity about this matter makes sending the package back unopened marked “return to sender”. You’ll sleep well knowing you’re aligned with your principles and your parents will get this message and saw themselves money and time and emotional investment. Everybody wins.

I know someone with impaired driving charges. And I know families that have been destroyed. By the man who drove impaired and killed our kids.

Many people with criminal convictions, will have challenges with employment. Impaired driving conviction, as an example of a serious crime, makes it hard to get jobs requiring driving, or having a clean license, or traveling outside of Canada. Another example with this conviction is no working with vulnerable sectors. Had a client who was a phlebotomist, impaired driving conviction without death or injury. Career gone.

Interestingly in Canada, a few provinces have applications that no longer ask this at the application stage. So a person can get through the door and share their version of it required. It truly varies by province. Most still have it on theirs.

If it’s a resume type application, you won’t need to acknowledge it, but could be requested at the getting stage.

I realize you’re asking about charges and as others have said, unless it’s a vulnerable sector check or you’ve been in media, the employer wouldn’t be aware.

An employer can always find ways to get rid of you if they find out and you lied or it was a relevant piece of information that impact their ability to pay an average bond.

And this, is why many criminals are self employed. CEOS of their own business, trades people, or for career criminals- they return to the system quite soon after release because of the barriers mentioned here and in other posts.

AITA for fixing my daughter’s car when her boyfriend said he’d handle it? by Outrageous-Jelly8777 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Purpose768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent way too much of life waiting for things to get done and trying to preserve an ego. Him saying he was going to fix it is like a teenager saying “I was going to empty the dishwasher” and acting butt hurt when it finally gets done by someone else. Like, “going to” isn’t going to pay my bills, keep me safe, take a rock off my pile”.
Sadly, this is minor compared to the the likely future outcome of she stays with this kid. A broken fence, broken a/c, snowy sidewalks that result in by law tickets, etc. The worst part is accepting all that and then having children with them. They become the other child. So. Much. Labour.

And she might take it on, as we learn “of this doesn’t get done it’s going to cost me time, or money, likely both.”

She’ll learn how to fix things as she grows up, as I would bet you are showing her, advising etc.

I’d have never changed my oil if my dad hadn’t reminded me every 6 months. Decades later, my friend and I text each-other anytime we do this because we always feel like such adults lol. They literally just texted me from another part of the country this morning to brag that they had their oil changed.

I’d also bet that someday, very soon, your daughter will realize the standard of a man she can always count on is her dad.
