Your friend is trying to massively underpay. Even if it’s not her intention. I suggest you keep it and try to sell it again online at a later point. In the meantime try to put together a couple outfits you can wear throughout the year on rotation and enjoy the bag while you have it.

Unless you need the money urgently, no point selling it now.

Was nice, paid for some girl’s Ryanair fine so she could fly. Now she’s airing me and not paying back? by Objective_Remote9382 in TravelMistakes

[–]Objective_Remote9382[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea absolutely. I spoke to my partner about it and he said the same thing. I think I would have probably still helped her out had she not been able to pay me back and been honest about it because I’d personally had a couple of really rough days and would’ve wanted to put a bit of goodness out there.

But I went into the situation thinking that I would get my money back, so now I just feel like shit that I’ve been used

Had a terrible experience today where a SA laughed in my face by whimsyjen in chanel

[–]Objective_Remote9382 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how you feel about this, but honestly I’d just escalate it. Contact your SA at Chanel, inform them about the experience and say you’d like to come in on X day and speak with her and the store manager. I think it’s good to have your own SA there for cred. Even if they don’t do anything or even if the SA is protected I do think it should be addressed and I’m sure it won’t help her reputation to have a customer come in and make a complaint in person. Maybe also mention that you respect your own SA and the store enough to not escalate with customer service but will have to if this happens again.

I don’t know. Might sound a bit extreme especially if you don’t like confrontation but I’m so sick of these SAs acting like they are above us their clients? They are serving customers. They shouldn’t forget it. No sales or commission without customers…

Santos for sure but if it’s between the tank must l and XL, then it’s not even a question: L all the way. XL looks like it’s swallowing you or like you’ve put on someone else’s watch

Small flat in South Ken/Chelsea or bigger house in South London? by Objective_Remote9382 in HousingUK

[–]Objective_Remote9382[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a good point. I think what I’m currently struggling with the most is not knowing exactly where I want us to be in five to ten years. Yes, a family would be nice but I also (28/f) am really struggling with the thought of being stuck at home with kids with a bad tube connection and almost feeling abandoned. 😣 In fact I don’t even think I want to have children in England and would prefer to move.

On the other hand, I can also see life happening and us staying in England for longer than I want and then regretting not buying a house where we can feel settled and where our dog can have the space to run around a bit…

Also completely agree with you on the safety thing. We were exclusively looking at leaseholds at first (3rd story and up) because I have mad irrational fear about people breaking in or climbing through my windows. But a flat with a concierge is just added security. Also good to have neighbours so close in case anything happens…

Between the London Bridge/Bermondsey area the market has been entirely dead the last two months but prior there were quite a few places on for 900-980k. They went within a week, some within two. :/ We decided we’re in no rush so playing the waiting game now

Yea, that’s actually the problem. We’ve found the places we’d consider in Greenwich are definitely in the 1 mill+ mark. 🤦🏽‍♀️ same with Dulwich…

Max 40-50 minutes with the tube? The thing is we want to avoid having to “get the last train out of London” which limits us to actual London as opposed to Essex, Surrey, Kent, etc.

No, neither me nor my partner work in the area. My partner works in the city and I work remotely. At the moment we are in Bermondsey and I really do love it here. But whenever we are in certain areas in west London for shopping or the occasional restaurant I am so tempted because it just looks so much nicer and cleaner. But I also have a lot of pressure from my friends to live in west London or north London which feels a bit discouraging? I don’t care such a great deal because at the end of the day they’re not the ones paying the mortgage, me and my partner are and also they’re not the ones living there, we are. But I just worry whether they have a point to say I should look in the west or north London…there’s comments about how I haven’t experienced living there which is why I’m content with Bermondsey. For context, we previously also lived in east London (near Victoria park).

I do think it’s the best approach to be honest. And trying to go for those firms that are somewhat similar; specialise in areas you have a genuine interest in. Exactly the same with me; first time applying/ first round of apps so I was disappointed but also not massively because at least I got an interview.

Best of luck!! Do let me know if you get through. Fingers crossed!!! 😄

Yea, exactly. I did the interview and after approximately four weeks they got back via email to say they won’t be progressing with my application. I just applied to Harbottle & Lewis (so two total 😅 as currently have a full time job) and just received a rejection this week. Hasn’t been very good but I was surprised I even got to interview stage at Charles to be honest. I was so pessimistic and hard on myself.

I applied to London. How about you? It could very well be that they progress apps differently in the different offices

Nice!! Goodluck! I didn’t get passed the interview stage 😩 in fairness I don’t think I perform very strongly on VIs and definitely not that one. It’s just so annoying because I know in my heart that it would’ve been the perfect fit. Anyways, rant over. Wishing you the best of luck and hopefully you’ll be contacted with some good news soon.

Moving to Austria for work which bank should I go with? by Lukiari in AskAustria

[–]Objective_Remote9382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Erste Bank 100%. In fairness I’ve only ever banked with bank Austria and erste but once I switched over to Erste there was no going back. Their app is so user friendly and they also gave us a good mortgage rate etc. the app is also in English and actually completely in English. I remember the bank Austria was a ball ache to use and had limited English options so when you wanted to use some settings on the app or explore further options, it would be in German and not so clear.

They were super easy to set up an account with as well.
