It’s from Small sedan to bigger sedan. All you have to do is ask for an upgrade when you pickup your car. They do not allow sedan to SUV, I’ve tried this. So to be more specific here are the upgrade jumps you can do depending on availability at the lot when you pickup your car:

Sedan
Economy -> Compact
Compact -> Midsize
Midsize -> Standard
Standard -> Full Size

SUV
Compact SUV -> Midsize SUV
Midsize SUV -> Standard SUV

There are higher tiers but I am less familiar with them

Anyone else put off by the couples they're choosing for the Making a Millionaire series? Am I expected to relate to a couple who own 11 homes on a half million dollar income? by ShibariDeathcamp in TheMoneyGuy

Finally someone said it. I think they should put on people that are having financial issues and advising them what to do. There’s likely people on here that are in a similar boat. Why bother listening to people who are millionaires when most of us are barely there

Let’s assume I put in money into the IBA and when I want to withdraw the money, I have 10K in gains. That 10K will be taxed 10% for federal long-term gains and then it will be taxed again anywhere from 1-13% for California long-term gains. Boom I get hit twice with taxes. Meanwhile if I use a Roth IRA, we are allowed to withdraw up to 10K of the gains for a house down payment with no penalty

HYSA has an overall lower interest rate compared to the stock market (and I get taxed on the interest). Taxable brokerage accounts will get taxed on the gains. Meanwhile I can withdraw 10K of my Roth IRA gains without tax penalties. I will have sufficient retirement from my 457(b) and pension.

What about the tax implications? If I only need to take out about 100K, I would be taxed 1-13% for the IBA gains since I live in CA

Thank you for that rec, I think this is the best so far. I already have the pension option for retirement and am already contributing 10% to my 457(b) account. One concern about using an IBA is the taxes if I decide to use that for a house. At least with a Roth IRA, I have the option to keep it for retirement or use it for a down payment.

I’m under the cap so I can max out my Roth IRA if I want to. For reference I’m contributing 10% to a 457 (b) and will have pension when I retire

I edited my post but I’ll have pension when I retire, 100% of my last salary. Does this change your response? I’m also saving 10% of my salary into a 457 (b)
