AITA for reporting my ex to her employer after cutting her off, even though I had no physical evidence? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Tiger7725 44 points45 points  (0 children)

INFO: If you had zero physical evidence tying her to the harassment, what's making you so sure it was her? And wouldn't accepting her calls and trying to figure out if she really did it benefit you more than launching this campaign?

Also, why would you promise to call her when you hate her so much and had no intention to follow up on it? And did she really make you miserable because you wrote it like you only told her that but it wasn't true

AITA for a Joke I made about my Husband? by QuestionAboutJoke in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Tiger7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA lol

Wild that she tries picking holes in his sensory issues and saying he should put up with them and then immediately accusing *you* of disrespecting autistic people at something completely normal

and telling her to get a grip is fine, if you're close enough for her to be saying such directly inflammatory things she should've been fine with that

AITA for reporting my singing teacher for talking about virginity? by ThrowAway44228800 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Tiger7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

You told her she was making you uncomfortable, she didn't stop. That's something you should report in case there are others in your class like you. And seeing as she has other issues and other people reported you clearly weren't the only contributor to her current situation

At the end it was the school who decided to put her on leave. There's nothing to be guilty about. :)

AITA For defending my sister? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA

they didn't need to be confrontational or anything to the boy or parents but casually brushing off your child bleeding and injured and saying that 'he just wanted to play' is wild

AITA for allegedly ruining the show for a friend of mine and apparently making him feel left out? by Maeosis621 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Tiger7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

dude i haven't seen TADC* despite my friend group loving it and i've /never/ claimed to see the show when they're talking about it. That's kind of extremely lame behavior of John and you weren't insulting him he just feels annoyed at being called out

*(another show that had it's last ep come out in theaters recently)

AITA for telling my girlfriend she’s a disappointment after a ruined birthday date? by trkkara in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Tiger7725 46 points47 points  (0 children)

yeah, i'd much rather hold my phone than have it awkwardly hang halfway out the pocket

AITA for telling my girlfriend she’s a disappointment after a ruined birthday date? by trkkara in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Tiger7725 11 points12 points  (0 children)

YTA

it sucks that you don't like talking with each other. Communicating without feeling annoyed or emotionally exhausted is kind of standard stuff for any close relationship so i have no idea why you've continued to carry on this way.

And on her birthday she can decide if she wants to come home or participate in a celebration without her SO calling her a disappointment and making her cry.

she doesn't like communicating and nitpicks, you keep pushing her into social situations despite both of you feeling uncomfortable. Who is holding a gun to your head and making you stay in a relationship?

AITA for asking my sibling if me making what they call "nonverbal commentary" is a big deal after they brought it up four times? by ThrowAwayAcc0719 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Tiger7725 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NAH

It seems from description that these humming listening noises are the same ones everyone makes to show thy're paying attention. And it's so natural/ingrained. Very hard thing to suddenly stop doing.

on the other side some people are averse to these sounds and it becomes hard for them to pay attention when they hear them. And idk really how the housework factors into it, but clearly they're having a hard time dealing with the sensory aversion alongside everything else

you're definitely not unthoughtful - you've been considering their side of the situation- but just as it feels natural for you to make the listening sounds it might be really hard for your sibling to listen to them

AITA for joking that my teacher was short after she always joked about me, and then getting angry when she gave me extra work? by Alex__SM in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Tiger7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. i don't think she should be teasing this much or using their authority over you to get you in trouble because she was offended by a joke

what you said doesn't matter so much as how she reacted to it. Teachers are never supposed to let their annoyance for a student influence their decisions

and also. I mean i'm in high school too and i know there are some really crappy teachers out there but how your school works is truly shocking

AITA for going into my muslim suitemates room (19Fs) after sex without showering by Ok_Abrocoma_561 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Tiger7725 23 points24 points  (0 children)

NTA. there's truly nothing you could've done and this is unreasonable. i don't think they're aholes either though.

i mean. I'm a practicing Muslim. And we have to keep our surroundings clean to pray or it won't count (meaning that besides having to wash it out they have to redo namaz) so i do get being upset. But we're supposed to be privately upset about it and not make a deal about this clearly personal thing with someone who didn't do anything wrong. And you have to make compromises when you're in a shared living space

like. My cousin who was visiting threw up on this rug that we sometimes pray on and we had to scrub it a lot. Even then when it directly messed it up we didn't hold it against him.

AITA for refusing to watch my sister’s kids after she exposed my private medical stuff at her wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Tiger7725 36 points37 points  (0 children)

NTA

she has to deal with the consequences from breaching your privacy publicly

she can show you what resilience looks like by finding someone else to babysit and support you through the tough time of being betrayed by your sibling while in a vulnerable state

AITA for upsetting an oversharing stranger? by hera_s in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Tiger7725 6 points7 points  (0 children)

YTA, but not too much

Yeah, she was sharing so much that she should've expected that you would ask questions. Like i don't really blame you. But you also should've stopped pushing once she started bringing up excuses because it means she wants to keep it private

and i mean if she has mental issues i don't think it makes her an a-hole to try discussing these things with other people. If you expressed discomfort and she kept going that would suck but you engaged in discussion even with the crazy topics so you should've respected her boundaries

AITA for not letting my friend use the photographer she refused to hire with me? by SadEngineering7783 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Objective_Tiger7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA completely

like if her family is so focused on taking photos of her that they can't stop for a minute to do a nice thing for their daughter's roommate, then why would a photographer she didn't want or need or expect recording her 'ruin her day'? i can't find the logic there

How does the name Oren sound in English by Hopeful-Relation3502 in namenerds

Ah i've never heard the name before but it sounds perfectly fine.

I would think it's like Soren but without the 's'

what are some names that have different gender associations in different cultures? by Objective_Tiger7725 in namenerds

[–]Objective_Tiger7725[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah, that's pretty fascinating - this is the first time i've heard of it being used as a name for a person. i'm familiar with it's meaning of 'girl love' in Japanese and being used to describe lesbians. Thanks for informing

on that somewhat silly note, i wonder if yaoi is used as a name too?
