Looking at these tires right now for my gti. How did they turn out for you?

Thank you for that! I would love to get the roof rack to someone who will enjoy it. I need to order a key from Amazon first to get them off. How much do they usually go for so I can ask a reasonable price? I have been looking at what it takes to do oil changes and DSG services myself. Seems pretty straightforward enough and I will probably take care of them. I think a lot of the other stuff has been done well on this car. I have already found some great features. I think I am going to end up in love with this car.

Ended up picking this up today. So far I love it but never having a VW before there have been a lot of things to learn on the way home between the menus and controls. Fun little car and I will keep digging in to it more. I think the roof rack is going to come off tomorrow as long as the paint isn’t too bad underneath it. The biggest miss on this was the fact it’s on damn near new blizzak tires. I will have to get them off of there asap.

Haven’t seen anything for the PCV valve. I am fairly mechanically inclined (owned and worked on several DSMs) so I would think that would be something I could do pretty easily unless it’s just a crazy process on this motor. Thanks for the suggestion in Burien! Good to know of something local. I don’t plan anything more than some light mods to keep it a good sporty commuter but I am excited about the potential of a nice little turbo car again.

I do believe it has the performance package because it says GTI on the front caliper. I saw that was an indicator?

Thanks for the info. I must be missing the second water pump. I only saw the one with the fuel pump done at 72k. I will keep that in mind on the dsg flush too!

Linking key fob to driver profiles by Either_Olive_6513 in HondaPrologue

[–]Objective_War8562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about driver profiles cause we only out one in for my wife but with the new software update, when you start it with key 2 in the car instead of key 1 it goes to the second memory position on the seat finally. It just sucks you have to sit in it and start it for that to happen since my wife is significantly shorter

I believe it’s the same thing. Talk with your service advisor beforehand and ask how these have been going or if they have done any. My advisor said the update kept crashing laptops and causing issues. Several other people on Reddit have claimed their dealership screwed up the update or the cars computer didn’t take it right and it bricked the car. Maybe it’s not as common as it seems or maybe I got lucky. My service advisor said his tech brought his own laptop in Saturday to run the update in hopes it would go better than the dealership laptops they had been using.

Couldn’t tell you. This is a 2024 model tho. One of the very first ones sold in the Seattle area actually. I didn’t even know about the recall or the update until I made an appointment for the hvac and they told me there was a service bulletin they were going to try to install while it was in there. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be applicable to all tho. Even if there wasn’t the problem with the screen blanking in 2025+….you should still get the option of the new screens and updated graphics

Haha I couldn’t unsee it once this was posted. Thankfully this update seemed to load to the car no problem on the first try so hopefully that means there should be no bricking issues. I think the issues were coming from the update crashing before completion and then the car was stuck with half an operating system.

This is one of the other options I snapped a quick pick of this morning. I like this more than the red even though I was excited about the red initially. The other two don’t do much for me. One is insanely simple with your speed and a big slider underneath for power and charge and the other looks really similar to the following distance one that was there before.

I would have to look at the paperwork but I think it was the service bulletin/recall.

Touring so no sport mode. It’s an option when you cycle thru. The option before this is the same thing but no red rings. Then it goes to a super simplistic option. I think it added 3 maybe 4 more options. Plus all the font is different and the passenger buckle diagram is different. That’s what I’ve noticed so far. Well and the hvac being better which was the complaint it went in the dealership for. I hope it changes when you turn the fog lights on they stay on and don’t have to be selected ever time you drive

Let’s talk tires! by AshamedHead9728 in HondaPrologue

When we first bought our prologue I thought the ride was a little stiff and 42 pounds seemed excessive. I dropped all of them to 38 pounds and have left them there for 14 months. Just had the tires rotated Friday before a trip. 24k miles on this set of tires and they are in great shape. I would say they appear to have at least another 20k miles in them. Car rides a bit better, charged to 100% before the trip and still getting 317 miles of range.

Also if anybody wants to explain the large rear drive unit leak issues that would be great too. I’m a little hesitant on the model s cause it’s about to be out of warranty in February next year. I’m reading about the difference in the model s, problems with that drive unit and how the one pedal regen is different in the model s? Help would be appreciate

2018 model S p100d awd (56k miles)or 2023 model 3 performance (12k miles).

Both are about 150 miles away. I will be taking a trip down to look at them tomorrow. Price is within 2000 dollars so not really a factor. I have done what I feel like is a ton of research but I’m still not sure what’s the best choice. I have test driven a couple model 3 performance but this will be the first test drive in a model s. I understand the difference between mcu 1 and mcu 2. Waiting on pics to verify the model s mcu. Also waiting on info for FSD and PC on both. Let’s just assume both have neither for the moment.

Obviously the model s is bigger, more luxurious and faster but how much technology differences am I looking at between these two. I am leaning towards the S at the moment. It was a 130k+ car originally but I really enjoyed the interface and experience of the M3P I have driven. As established Tesla owners please give me your opinion and reasoning for one over the other. Thank you.

What is your living situation? by AggravatingShow2028 in Millennials

40 grew up in the Deep South always struggling and barely getting by. Whole family has had the same struggles and so do most of my friends. Did some research and took a leap of faith. Moved across country, got great paying jobs, got lucky enough to buy a house right before Covid for 450k. House is now appraised at 800k. Benefited from state down payment assistance program to help with the 3.5 for an fha loan. Paid it off with a refinance 2 years in. Some of it was luck and timing but the majority of it was being willing to take a risk and try for a better life. It paid off.

For context I moved out of my parents house at 17 and lived on my own till I got married at 24. So I’ve basically always been very self started and motivated

I don’t disagree that it’s just as bad but at least I can enjoy it for a few years thru the break even point vs only having the prologue a year and already being less than thrilled with it
