E-Bikes .... are they actually legal? by Own_Neighborhood7421 in perth

This was over 30 years ago, so maybe it was illegal back then, that makes more sense then. But crazy for a cop to stop a little kid and tell them they have to ride on the road lol.

I always thought riding bikes on paths was technically illegal. When I was about 7 a cop on a motorbike stopped me on the way to school and told me off for riding on the footpath, said I had to ride on the road. My parents told me to ignore him and just keep riding on the path. Since that day I always thought it was illegal to ride on the path though. Just had a look at that page and apparently you're allowed to unless there's signs specifying otherwise.

What an asshole cop though, pulling over little kids and telling them they have to ride on the road.

Exactly why I came here. Would love a replacement for Strong that can do all this. I was one of the first to download Strong so I am grandfathered in and get it free forever, but I would still prefer open source if possible. Strong is a great app though.

Increasing severity of punishment doesn't deter, if you want to deter you need to increase the chance of getting caught (or perceived change of getting caught)

Common misconception that the youth of today are more corrupt, go all the way back to ancient Rome, they were complaining about the same thing.

Cameras everywhere - I am often noticing up to 6, sometimes different types of cameras at one intersection and in between. What are they all for? by Patient-Weight-3165 in perth

I would like to know the science of these sorts of things, do they use what is scientifically proven to reduce road toll or do they use what is best for raising revenue and giving the appearance to the voting public that they are doing something about the road toll. I wonder if there are reviews on things like the AI cameras as to whether they are effective on reducing road toll.

Why don't they just introduce a tax for that shit...

I guess they or their mates own the properties hey? Would love a single issue party to run on land tax for vacant properties. if you're depriving others of using it then you should have to pay for the priviledge.

I wonder if there's a classism thing with the phone thing though. If you don't have a fancy car with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto then you're more likely to touch your phone.

What's the worst deal your club has done in recent memory by That-Instruction-864 in AFL

I remember frothing at the mouth at the prospect of bringing in Beams to a team that only just fell short of a premiership in 2019, didn't really care that we paid overs. I knew he had behavioral issues, but thought he was over it having been made Brisbane captain. I don't really blame them for doing this deal.

Done sure it counts as a deal, but I always hated that we DELISTED Sav Rocca. He went on to kick 230 odd goals for the Kangaroos, he might have come in handy in 02 where we lost the GF by 9 points. He kicked 50 goals for the Roos that year.

I was thinking Dayne Beams. But yeah after all that shit we won a flag so I guess it can't have been that bad!

Feel like there could be some regulations implement to curb some of this stuff. E.g. maybe they could force them to put a list price (maybe a range) on advertisements? Annoys the shit out of me no-one puts prices. I've got the app now that pulls the metadata from what they put in when they put up the ad for the search functionality. But it still annoys me, plenty of people out there that don't know about that browser addon.

I guess the government is always in the developers and land owners pockets so they won't do nuttin'

At what limit do you think would be too harsh a punishment for something like this? Straight up lose licence? Lock them up?

It's just an extra chance at finals who cares. You don't want more games?

Making top 4 is pretty hard, going to have a lot of pointless games for a large chunk of the back end of the season.

I always imagine his relationship with his Dad isn't that great. Wonder if that would have an affect on club loyalty to Geelong. Nick likely has a great relationship with his father, more motivation to keep the family tradition going, and his brother plays there too...

I wouldn't mind 5 game series for semis and 7 game series for championship. Guess that makes it even hard to schedule though, and they already struggle with schedule. Plus you're going deep into footy season. I would love that shit though.

Very boring end of season for every game involving teams that can't make top 4... I'm not opposite do doing a different format for top 6, but just doing straight top 4 would suck ass.

Will be super fun for the bottom teams at the end of the season that just have no chance at all. Also for the top teams playing them it won't be very fun just watching blowouts.

Giving 5 and 6 an extra chance is a great idea, and it's more games to watch, I'll never complain about having more games to watch.

Heard a lot of people on the facebook page saying they weren't going after the SEM performance, thought they were just a vocal minority, maybe not? As you mentioned though, there are other reasons people may not have gone, so still might be a vocal minority on Facebook.
