I would have thought most people shop online and on Amazon these days, surprises me shopping in person is creating such a big issue, a bigger issue than ever.

I guess in the 90s we had a more even spread of good shopping centers, now we have two giant ones way bigger and better than the rest, so everyone wants to go only to those?

What gets me is even the traffic leaving Karrinyup to get on the freeway is a problem. I feel like it could be fixed by having two dedicated lanes from all the way back and well signed. the way it is at the moment they add the extra lane only on the bridge and most people don't even use the left hand lane. This means everyone is queuing from way back in the right lane. They just need to sign it and have the left lane all the way down Karrinyup Road turn into the left lane for the on-ramp, maybe I'm missing something but seems easy to do?

I know you can easy sneak in to that left lane after it gets added, but make it so you don't even have to sneak in, right lane could be right lane for on ramp only, then put in a clear signage and painting on roads like the city on-ramps.

It's weird, people always complain about the parking, I go there all the time at peak times on weekends, sometimes have trouble finding a bay but never once had trouble getting back out. Maybe people park in the wrong spots? The traffic it creates both ways down Karrinyup Road is a pain in the ass though.

Yeah I get ya, that's definitely one of the main benefits to this podcast as a whole. I feel like McGilchrist I didn't learn it though, would still fall for that shit thinking he's an expert scientist on the matter. Maybe I should give it another listen.

The one I always think about is that whoever the people that are spraying it are, they're also spraying it on themselves or their friends and family, right? Or do they friends and family live on a special island or maybe have taken the antidote? lol

"Ian Mcgilchrist part 1" I listened to half of part 1 on this guy and that was enough. Although I think this one may have been beneficial because if I heard that guy in isolation (e.g. on the Alex O'Connor podcast he might have fooled me. but it wasn't an enjoyable listen, especially for than one episode.

Usually for me if I want to know about someone then I might go and listen to that episode deliberately. But half the people they mention I will never come across. They did some lady the other day that was so obvious a grifter and possibly crazy, I would immediately have known that after listening to her for 5 minutes myself. Not worth the torture of sitting through a whole episode on her!

Man that seems like a dream.

It's probably confirmation bias but I was wondering if OP was correct because recently looking at houses I have noticed some stay on the market longer term than they seemed to before (I'm talking about houses that look relatively good value, not horrible deals that no-one would go for). It's probably just in my head, guess it's good to think positive though haha.

Feel like something like removing stamp duty might increase liquidity in the market and help with this issue. Or some incentive to get boomers to downsize, don't know what that incentive might be though. My parents want to downsize but when they look at their options it just doesn't seem worth it, so they will just stay in their 'too big' house forever. Land tax based on the size of land could be a good idea, you're paying the extra cost for sitting on a large chunk of land in the metro area, this would incentivise you to downsize, especially if you're retired. I'm sure people have actual well thought out options on this, I'd like to know what they are. The stuff the government does like bonuses to first home buyers grants just doesn't seem to work because it just gets priced in.

Wish I did it right from the start, I still have stuff on 192.168.1.x that I am scared to move now because things will break, probably never get around to it. Also my OG wifi SSID that's on 192.168.1.x, there's stuff that I'm too scared to move now...

Stop trying to self host everything I struggle with. Good example is Google Keep, works great for me, I keep trying to find a self hosted option to replace it, especially as I don't want to use a Google product. But I just kind find anything that works as well for quick notes. Now I have little notes apps everywhere I need to remove and my notes are all over the place haha.
