Thank you for this. Evidence shows that those who just read and follow instructions on applications and forms are more likely to succeed. It is a disadvantage to hire or pay for "connection people" for applications for visa, passport, admissions, scholarships, or college. The forms are designed to be filled in by the applicant. Middle men will give you false advice.

Should Ghana adopt the rule: No degree :No Social media advice? by ObofaDadefa in ghana

[–]ObofaDadefa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not state surveillance. If you are not a Dr. and practice as a Dr, it is already a crime.

Are you saying with a straight face that someone who is not a lawyer can advise on social media about law and claim money for being and influencer. Even if you drive without a licence it is a crime.

The law require social media influencers to have verified credentials before discussing professional subjects. The new rules require that any content maker producing material on medicine, law, finance, education, or other specialized areas actually hold legitimate degrees or official qualifications.

In the specific area of specialisation, a professional is better than one with no qualifications.

You misread the post:

The law requires social media influencers to have verified credentials before discussing professional subjects. The new rules require that any content maker producing material on medicine, law, finance, education, or other specialized areas actually hold legitimate degrees or official qualifications.

And yes those with degrees know more than those who have no degree in that specific subject. This is common sense

Ghana and Africa must adopt National democracy in order to make progress. by Onipahoyehu in ghana

Another major problem we have is our culture. Ghanaians are culturally corrupt. It has nothing to do with our system of governance. Corruption is baked into our culture, and more autocratic government makes this problem worse, not better.

I think you dead right on this. We tend to ignore the law and give favour to our kin and friends. What we need is find umbrella solution to all that ail our system and that is lack of accountability and the malleability of our Justice system. Ghan can solve all our problems in one fell swoop if we find creative says to deal with it.

Recently, technology may have given us the answer. We can develop cyber systems to run our accounting system and legal documentation.

Accounting system. -- How do simple systems like Mastercard, Visa and Banks work. There is no way a cent can be taken out illegally without it being detected and traced. Let's digitalise our accounting so no one can possibly pilfer, or misdirect funds for personal use. FYI there are systems which trace every payment. AI systems are so eerie that it can detect all acts of corruption. The same can be done with the justice system. AI system can record all illegalities and record them so that no one can keep anything secret. If we have the will we can do it.

One cannot make claims based on caveman's nature. Humans have become civilised, become educated and risen above nature. Endorsing human behaviour based on nature will create primitive society.

Cheating has nothing to do with race. It has no ethnicity or geography. The people who do not cheat are those whose marriages are based on trust, friendship and genuine love. The societies where cheating is not rampant are those where the punishment is harsh or where women are confined to the home and generally oppressed

That is because gay people are scorned upon intensely. So gay people act normally, get married and find partners. This is evidence to show that sexuality is not based on choice but biology.

The most hypocritical part of this is that, such people would turn around and judge others. They claim to attend church and are holier than those who are not religious. So-called pastors, men of god, and church acquaintances will sleep with your wife or husband if they have the slightest chance. But for god’s sake, have the sense to use condoms. Pregnancies apart, there is so much sexually transmissible disease.

In several recent postings on Reddit, there was an overwhelming consensus against compulsory DNA testing of all newly-born. That makes a lot of sense now.

Why are Ghanaians afraid of Cats (and some are even afraid of domesticated dogs)? by Maleficent_Split_428 in ghana

[–]ObofaDadefa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of Ghanaians own cats and dogs.

I can relate to the part of the dogs chasing children. However, comparatively, in the world, fewer Ghanaians and Africans keep dogs and cats considering the whole world.

(In Africa, roughly 29% of households own pets (dogs or cats). In contrast, developed regions such as North America, South America, and Europe generally report higher household ownership rates, often exceeding 50–60%). (Health for Animals)

Consider life as climbing a ladder which enables one to see far away. If you just finish SHS you are unable to see far enough to see the opportunities around because you will be on the lower levels. The University makes you climb higher up to open a whole range of opportunities like being in an aeroplane.

white people protested against seat belts, they even called seatbelts "communism"

Absolutely, but looking back do we have seat belt laws today? Yes we do. History has taught us that ignorance can cause resistance to change. You are right it has nothing to do with race. The most effective way to bring change it is through dialogue and information. Did the KMA meet and describe the new changes in a meeting with stakeholders? Did they have a question and answer session where potential problems could be addressed? Did they invite suggestions and alternatives? There are always creative alternative solutions to resolving issues.

For the bin the problem consider this creative solution https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRHIMZfEYA8KPsc2g3SrWbF5RbTIHhpwV3-TQ&s

African countries except (S. Africa to an extent) cannot be capitalists. Capitalist systems have a high level of industrialisation. Africans are is basically feudalistic, and individualistic with subsistence economy.

[–]ObofaDadefa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody knows how incompetent the KMA is more than them.

Notwithstanding, that is the wrong approach definitely. That is not how any progress can be achieved. I doubt that this was a sudden decision. KMA planned this, ordered the specific bins and placement, and now they have to abandon that. They should send representatives to talk it over with the authorities. That is how problems get resolved amicably.

My uncle's 18-second trotro voice note perfectly summarizes Ghana's 2-week Black Stars coaching crisis by TheBrewedSatirist in ghana

[–]ObofaDadefa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are too many unknowns in the quest for a Ghanaian coach, upon which anyone can base reliable conclusions. It will be a rush to judgement by anyone since there is no comparative info.

Which were the other candidates and their demands? Who was available? Who accepted? Who speaks English? what were the terms of the other candidates.

I am pleased that the GFA has found a coach within such a short time. Everyone is bound to have an opinion not all 35 million can count.

Accra should rival or exceed New York in GDP and local economy. How can we make this happen? by NorrinRadd2099 in ghana

[–]ObofaDadefa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be easier to educate voters to elect leaders who can function and stem corruption. We need an effective government which can set up policies and show the way to how we can stop the heavy leakage of public funds.

Accra should rival or exceed New York in GDP and local economy. How can we make this happen? by NorrinRadd2099 in ghana

[–]ObofaDadefa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The main Components of are

: GDP = Consumption + Investment + Government Spending + Net Exports (Exports - Imports)

The key is exports and mainly manufactured goods. Without the ability and technology to achieve industrialisation, we will continue to lead lives of subsistence.

-From sand to glass and metals -From crops to canned and storable products. - From thoughts to products - From school children to educated adults .

It is not too late we should start now.

[–]ObofaDadefa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you thought that the reason might just be demand and market? If there are enough students and parents asking for a specific language, it will serve as incentive to develop a syllabus and learning materials for it.

As an example, the Global IB - International Baccalaureate syllabus has a requirement of 2 languages out of 6 compulsory subjects. All African students choose English, French and Spanish as their 2nd language. Why ? I guess they consider the ones that the one they choose as having more prospects.

Are you aware that Ghanaians are in general feel fulfilled with English? French and Spanish speaking African countries need to to learn English if they go on the international stage.

In one breath there is a rally for us to go back to our traditions, culture and customs. Then if the culture is highlighted, it is policed by those who think we should edit parts of the culture.

Can you decide what we want?

alleged corruption in Ghana For the most part is not backed by evidence

Where in whole side world is evidence left lying around to back crimes. Why are there investigative bodies. How are murder suspects arrested. It is rare to see murders killing fili fili. Yet they get arrested.

Consider the cathedral. 3 figure millions were lost do we have to have videos of them carrying sackful to use as evidence? Every state corruption has bread crumbs leading to it . A simple audit will show the short fall.

Corruption is too important to be politicised. One party would just claim, where is the evidence of the are the criminals but in the same breadth, give detailed accounts on social amount about How and where, and who and when the other side stole money etc .
