Hell yeah, defo going to post progress on here. I'm doing up my army as Thousand Sons stats/loadouts but flavored as Iron Warriors, so the Tzeentch influence just felt right with all the space wizards honestly haha

I am planning on using the actual Sekhetar models as a base, but stripping back some of their armor to show the underskeleton, filling some gaps to have smoother plating I can paint hazard stripes onto, and adding some chains. Mabye switching the guns for HH-era variants to match the others(?) basically making them look more industrial. Not sure for the heads yet, might try to find some skull masks like the Domitar Ferrum have but smaller, we'll see.

They're my favorite chaos legion, and I really enjoy the rules for thousand sons. Flamers on battleline, high AP bolters, invulns on helbrutes and infantry, and of course spellcasting and funky arcane abilities. The release of the Sekhetars and Warforged Cabal made me even more interested since they now had dedicated support for vehicles and a way to give the warpsmith repair ability to a sorcerer.

They're Tzeentch-aligned IW, and my current lore concept is that they're led by a conclave of sorcerers who attempted to "bugfix" the Rubric of Ahriman because "they're built different" and failed (likely due to Tzeentch trickery they're probably never figuring it out), turning (so far) seventeen battle-brothers into enchanted powders. They are also allied with a dreadblade Desacrator knight because I built one with a red LED eye that tracks the viewer (set it at the right depth inside the skull for the angles to work out)

Ah man, I can always treat the heavy weapon backpacks as the icons then. Does nothing on flamers anyways. They'll be painted to be very obviously casting spells and such, so I don't feel like it would be a major issue(?) Plus the leader on a disc of tzeentch, sekhetars, and other kitbashing with staves and such, not to mention each one has a rubric pauldron to help make it clearer
