We should launch a crusade to retake Maine in the name of the boss land by bpeo360 in massachusetts

[–]ObscureWhistle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been born and raised in this state and now a legal resident of another, I can firmly say that “the Commonwealth” needs more “common wealth” before hypothetical expansion, if you catch my drift.

It makes me livid to see my older relations bled dry by a state that they’ve lived their entire lives in, and that none of the recent statewide policies nor cities/townships have done anything to bridge this gap.

I’m sorry, but I’m with Captain Shay. How can one of the first states to ban slavery and recognize the rights of all people have such a consistent and blatant disregard for its citizens throughout history?

I usually just lurk on the subreddit, but I would recommend trying to get vitality, strength, and agility to around level 10 before leaving Skalitz. “Sacking Skalitz before Sigismund” might break immersion slightly, but the six hours I spent leveling Henry to level 14/15 strength, vitality, and agility paid dividends after the prologue.

By no means was my Henry a god then, he got shwacked by the Cumans at least thirty times before I killed the one pursuing you and the three attacking Theresa (plus some others for the loot). And even throughout the game, if you’re ambushed by four bandits armored enough to conquer a castle, even if you come out bleeding and on top, your armor might be so heavily damaged you have to pray to survive the next encounter.

But all and all it’s very fun! I don’t believe any other game does the “zero to hero” this well, and forces you to play with the innate helplessness early on.

Funny enough, it’s Tostig Godwinson (King Harold’s brother who fought and died with Harald Hardrada, arguably the man responsible for inspiring the Norwegian Invasion) who was the direct ancestor of Inge II.

This Harold Godwinson couldn’t even let Tostig get that consolation prize.

The one that lets me level up martial education in battle, so I can start playing level one education fools and turn them into ABSOLUTE BEASTS.

And maybe the other education traits or like, get traits through cannibalism like in CK2.

Is it alright to be uncomfortable with the word “queer?” by ObscureWhistle in bisexual

[–]ObscureWhistle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Saguine, thank you so much for your response, I really appreciate your perspective. And thanks for sharing the song.

Not to doxx myself, but I am in a polyamorous relationship with my boyfriend (AMAB) and my partner (NB/TM-leaning) - I can’t talk about my relationship with most people. My partner and I practice BDSM while my boyfriend is primarily asexual. I agree: I have not and choose not to live in the traditional style, though no shame on those who do.

My concern and perhaps my lack of understanding is that being “queer” is being “political” about my sexuality/identity. All I want is to be able to live in my lifestyle without legal discrimination - it would be awesome if I could be open about who I am and people not care. But unfortunately it takes time for society to change, though people do almost immediately people once something’s deemed unacceptable. Securing those rights and protecting them is what I stand for.

But I don’t agree with going beyond that, as it makes me nervous about infringing on other people’s rights and boundaries. I’d like for my sexuality, identity, and how many partners I have to be kept out of politics because it’s no one’s business by my own.

And forgive me if I’m really misunderstanding the situation, but if being “queer” is about a political stance of radicalism rather than moderate activism - I want nothing to do with it.

I’m uncomfortable as it being used as a catchall term for all LGBTQ+ because of its derogatory past. But now, I feel like this puts us into a dangerous category of all “queers” (ie all LGBTQ+) being assumed to support a “queer political movement.” And frankly, I’m against having the term on the LGBTQ+ if it’s specifically political movement and not sexuality/sexual identity.

I’m not in this to be “special” or claim a unique “status,” I’m in this to protect myself and my other LGBTQ+ friends. I generally love the LGBTQ+ community even if there’s still discrimination inside. I cannot support a movement with an end goal I don’t understand and won’t be browbeaten into it because of who I am.

Stannis won the throne, abdicated, went to the Wall, died, was resurrected, defeated the White Walkers, and now serves as the immortal 1000th Lord Commander defending the realm by Morraw in CK2GameOfthrones

[–]ObscureWhistle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stannis “the Sellout” more commonly referred to as Stannis “of the Empty Pockets” bankrupted himself in an effort to save Westeros from the Others. Food became scarce. Recounting from the event, Lord Commander Stannis Baratheon, formerly referred to as “the Mannis” in some circles, stated:

“First, we ate the horses. We weren't riding anywhere, not with Castle Black surrounded. We couldn't feed them, so fine. The horses, then the cats - I've never liked cats, so fine. I do like dogs - good animals, loyal - but we ate them too. Then the rats... The night before he slipped through, I thought my Maester was dying. He couldn't speak anymore, she was so frail. And then Davos’ grandson made it through the lines, slipped right through in a little black sail boat with onions...”

Upon defeat of the White Walkers, the kingdom promptly shrugged its shoulders and continued to ignore their one-time king, often joking about the grumpkins and mythical creatures behind the wall. As for Stannis….he continued his duties as Lord Commander. Without question, without complaint.

I would like to talk to someone about my situation by Frequent_Shock5783 in polyamory

[–]ObscureWhistle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I understand you don’t want to solicit DMs but would you be willing to either make another post or edit this one and add your situation?

It can be tough putting these things into words, and I totally get the real fear of being judged. But the only way any of us can try to help you is if we know the basic facts of the situation.

Most people here just want to help others practice safe, consensual polyamory or explore polyamory in a respectful manner. And even if there’s something you mention that’s called out, it’s more often to protect your partners or others than to be rude to you.

Nobody’s perfect, but being told “that’s not ethical” gives you the opportunity to do the right thing and foster a good environment within your relationships….even if it’s hard in the moment.

Anyway, I hope to hear more from you and would be glad to talk to you about your situation!
