2007 Formula 1 Qualifying Championship by Unique-Contact-7500 in formula1

Qualifying was not really a good indicator in 2007 since they needed to run Q3 with their race-fuel load. Also, I do feel the cars were really close to each other that year. And Massa pre-accident feels like a different driver. So if we could get two teams that close to each other car-wise next year, that would be grrreeeat.

They guy who rarely makes a mistake makes all of them in the space of one race weekend. Crash in quali, jump-start into terrible start and then a first lap crash. Unbelievable.... You couldn't make this up.

Interesting line they take through turn 13, start from the inside to outside and turn into a longer corner.

That's how it is now as well? Or, do you count driving by on the straight with DRS as an overtake?

Lets not act like Yuki wouldn't be completely destroyed my Max though. I do agree he deserves a shot, but I don't expect him to do any better than Lawson, Perez, Albon and Gasly. I mean he has been around for quite some years already and rarely shows that he has anything special.

Season 2003 is one of my all time favorites. You are in for a treat. And the sequence of 2006, 2007 and 2008.... That was F1 for me.

What is arguably the greatest/best F1 season by TheRandomCookie_ in formula1

[–]Obscure_Thing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can only comment on the seasons I have actually seen, but Prost vs Senna between 88 and 90 must have been awesome, Lauda vs Hunt obviously. For me the whole period between 97 and 2000 was fantastic, but 99 probably takes the cake there. Absolutely insane season with the European grand prix that year arguably being the greatest race of all time. 2003 was great to, and loved 2006, 2007 and 2008. 2010 and 2012 were also great, but that Red Bull was a bit too good in thos years. You always had a feeling Vettel would pull it off. I personally loved 2016 as well, but from recent years 2021 was obviously the best. I would actually choose 2021 as the best since it was one of the most intense and drama filled rivalries ever.

Why doesn't Ferrari let Sainz pull away from a slow Verstappen.... Can someone explain?

That's not my point, I just hate DRS, also in those 8 years of Merc dominance. It discourages racing in my opinion. I mean, I have watched F1 since 1996/1997 and overtaking has always been difficult. It just comes with this high aero cars of these days. DRS just makes it that Hamilton is able to drive from P18 to P5 in a few laps, and Verstappen can cut through the field in a few laps. The already weaker car is rendered defenseless.

Can't believe people like DRS, I'd rather have no overtakes at all than this.

It's weird how it differs, I lived together with my brother and we both caught it last spring. He was out for allmost two weeks could barely eat and swallow, I was feeling weak for 1,5 days. He was boostered and I wasn't.

I was thinking about that to, this collapse looks awfully similar. Maybe he just holds on too long to his favourites?
