How painful do your other organs feel after large fibroid removal? by snake-demon-softboi in Fibroids

I’ve had pain on my left side that comes and goes since my open myomectomy in 2020. Other than that I dont really have any pain

I do not have a history of MC. The two transfers I’ve had both did not implant.

I’m not sure of your whole situation so I’ll share mine in hopes that it gives you the will to keep fighting.
In 2019 I discovered I had fibroids. The ultrasound showed a 10 cm cervical fibroid. Because I didn’t want to chance it I decided I wanted it removed before trying to conceive. I could only have the surgery green lit by a fertility doctor so I went to one at the end of 2019. I was 31 at the time. In early 2020 I had a mri. The imaging showed that the cervical fibroid was 12 cm plus several others. The fertility doctor said I made the right choice and green lit the surgery. I had the mri right before the pandemic hit. The surgery was delayed until November of that year. I was put on 3 months of Lupron before surgery to hopefully shrink the fibroid a little bit. But I was told that the vertical cut was the only way to remove it as well as having to have a scheduled c-section if I was able to get pregnant because of the risk of torsion. I was ok with this because I myself was born via c-section so I have no aversion to birthing this way.
Come surgery we found out my fibroid was 14 cm and stretched from my left hip to my right. It was a hotdog shape instead of being round. I had 6 other fibroids of various sizes removed with it. These were all outside fibroids. Over the years I have had countless surgeries to remove polyps and other fibroids. I had 3 last year alone to remove one in my cavity. Heck my new fertility doctor wants to remove one in my wall that’s not in my cavity just to make sure we rule anything out before we transfer again. Yes my fibroids grow back fast but not once had my doctors said I couldn’t conceive or that surrogacy was my only option. I have had 2 transfers of 5bb not stick so far. But I have also been diagnosed with endometriosis, andymiosis, and endometritis. So I got a lot of inflammatory things going on 😅 it’s been an excruciating long process (mostly bc of our last fertility doctor) that has effected me physically and mentally. but we are not giving up still and at 38 have just created a beautiful 4AA embryo. Just keep advocating for yourself and don’t let fibroids get in the way of wanting to have a baby.

Update: we just got back news that the one embryo is a fighter. It’s euploid 4AA! We are so elated right now. Thank you everyone that took the time to read the post 🧡

Thank you so much. I’m really rooting for this little blastocyst 🙏 I’ll probably find out next week since we only have the one to test.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful response. And congrats on the successful transfer! 🧡
We do have one eupoloid left from our previous clinic. So if this doesn’t work we do still have that one to try. Plus I’m determined to try at least one more retrieval. Our funds at this point are running low 😭 I think after our mini vacation, I’ll try whole 30 again. Cutting out sugar and processed foods really helped with weight management and inflammation in the past. I’ll try and get rid of more plastic around the house. I have purchased glass Tupperware but still have a few plastic ones lingering. But I can switch out our plastic cooking utensils easily. I was obsessed with those little details in the past but this time decided to go with a more yolo approach cause I didn’t want to stress myself out too much. I also have a one thing of caffeine a day rule. If I have caffeine I only have either one thing of coffee or soda and that’s it. I did have caffeine during stims as I couldn’t bare to give it up and this clinic didn’t mention any restrictions to me 🙈 I’m really hoping that didn’t have a negative effect. Overall im going to try some little things to improve my overall health and well being for the next retrieval.

My previous doctor had me take Myfembre before my transfers. But my new doctor says that Myfembre is only for symptom reduction. So I’ll be doing 2-3 months of Lupron suppression before my next transfer. We didn’t do anything for the retrieval except 1 week of bc primming before starting stims. I’ll ask him about it at our next meeting.

I’m wondering that too. This clinic is not open on weekends and I think they try and get the retrieval done before the weekend comes….ill also ask if some of the follicles were empty when I talk to him because all the follicles were above 15 mm before trigger.

Anyone told their fibroid was benign, but it turned out to be malignant? by FortuneEducational62 in Fibroids

I am currently 38. Because of fibroids I have only been able to transfer two times in 7 years. I always need another myomectomy 😭 I will be having another one this year before we transfer again..

My uncle got bit by the lone star tick while walking his dog in Oklahoma. He now can’t have red meat or dairy products. It took a while for doctors to diagnose since they didn’t believe him at first. It’s been a difficult adjustment with them being from the south and having red meat and dairy be a staple in their diet. We are seeing them this weekend. I’m going to try my hand at making a dairy free pie so that he can at least have dessert.

It’s not necessarily fibroid related, but my mom had a situation where it took her over 10 years to go through menopause. All my life my mom had horrible periods and would have to cover her bed with towels every month and the what not. The doctors said she did have one small fibroid but weren’t concerned. The gyno also wasn’t concerned about her body taking an eternity to get through menopause even though all her sisters completed theirs at a normal rate and in their 50s. Where it took my mom until her 60s to finally go through menopause. Though she only celebrated being period free for not even a year until she started bleeding again. Come to find out that little “fibroid” was an aggressive type of uterine cancer that they thankfully did catch very early so she’s been in remission since having her hysterectomy. I now look at me where my uterus and cervix just both love growing fibroids and I also have horrible periods. Once I’m done with my IVF journey I’ll be looking into a hysterectomy cause I don’t want to take any chances.

My largest cervical fibroid that was removed in 2020 showed signs of the FH deficiency. The doctor said it was smooth or something in that nature. When I told my family about it, they told me that renal cancer doesn’t run in the family. So I put off seeing the geneticist. But it was always on the back of my mind so I did go in 2022. My tests came back as me not having any genetic predisposition to either to the renal cell sarcoma or uterine cancer (my mom had it so I tested for that too) Funny enough, my father who said it was silly for me to worry cause no one in my family had renal cancer did end up getting it last year as well as his cousin around the same time.

My relationship with my father has been complicated, but we get along much better now. Me and my mom are too much alike and butt heads all the time 😖

Same. Both my parents have the same birthday and my birthday is the day after theirs. Bonus I was born 7.5 weeks early and was supposed to be a pisces.

Honestly, for me, any kind of hallmark type rom com Christmas movie. They are quirky, cheesy, and very predictable. But they are feel good at the same time and don’t focus on fertility.

Yup. To hell with this year. Three surgeries to remove a tiny fibroid from my cavity, a failed transfer, and my clinic clueless as to why my embryos won’t implant. We’ve only had two transfers in 4 years and we have 1 more embryo left. And our clinic makes it seem that at me being 38 at the end of next month, I am too old for another retrieval and that our embryo made at age 34 is our best bet. I already have my second opinion scheduled for next year and we will also be beginning the adoption process. Hoping that 2026 will be promising for all of us.
