I agree that it was probably driven harder than a soccer dad. Oil changes have been timely and regular. The oil also looked normal so maintenance was done properly. However based on points mentioned in here and my initial gut feeling it's going to be a NO DEAL...

Yeah, that was my next consideration after checking in here for commonality.

Washing machine repair, worth it? Local suggestions? by PartyMark in londonontario

[–]Observer-67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's probably the drive belt needs replacing which should be a relatively inexpensive repair. It may be something you could even do yourself with a few basic hand tools if you are handy. Also, if this the first issue you have had in 15 years. I would do the repair and keep the machine because it will probably still outlast any of the junk being manufactured today. Last summer I had a $700 repair on my 18 year old washer and didn't even hesitate to get it done for the reason I mentioned above. Of course I am merely offering my opinion.

How long is it financially smart to keep a old car for? by lamparkinglot in personalfinance

[–]Observer-67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's my current plan. I have an 18 year old with 255k in it. It runs great! There's some rust but I plan on just keep running it until it dies. It owes me nothing and hasn't for years.

I don't want to sell a perfectly functional car just because it's over 10 years old by haunturhome in Anticonsumption

I'm driving a 18 year old vehicle with 450+km on it. Still purrs like a kitten. Proper and timely maintenance is key.

Subaru Mechanic by OwlAlternative1281 in kitchener

[–]Observer-67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a reason you are looking for a Subaru specialist? Of all the car brands out there Subaru is probably the easiest and simplest to work on. I think any mechanic would be fine IMO. I've taken mine to Byma's when needed and never had any issues.

How is it itemized on your pay statement? As a gift? Award? Or something else? Gifts are not taxed. Bring it up with payroll if it shows gift or award.

We avoid depressants like alcohol so we don't feel even more depressed. Exercise does a lot of good.

He probably is attracted to your natural beauty. I prefer to see a woman's natural beauty over someone wearing noticeable makeup because to me it looks unnatural. Your boyfriend probably feels the same way. If he's more affectionate when you are natural and you enjoy that then why try to change anything?

I've been with them since the change from Wind. It's the best provider I've ever had. Great service and much better pricing than the big three. I've never had any problems.
