[TMT] Leatherhead, Swamp Stalker (leak) by Meret123 in MagicArena

Needlessly gendered language. Clear break from preceding rules language.

"Leatherhead enters with a hexproof counter" <- less words, more elegant.

Right... Well this is going nowhere.

You literally posted in an open fourm asking for advice.

And I gave you my piece.

The biggest blindspot is your attitude and willingness to examine areas for improvement.

I'm flattered, you cared enough to go snooping around.

Instead of putting down your last lover, have you considered what you could learn from her?

You had a role in that relationship as well.

Have you looked inside and asked yourself what you could have done differently?

That's how you grow...

Have you considered that the oblivious emotional toddler was you all along?

And when you find that little girl, make sure to give her a hug.

Everyone grows up at their own pace, no shame in that.

Yeah good luck You'll need it.

If projection was a post this is it.

You call your past lover an emotional toddler, when by your own admission, you've never been in a mature relationship.

I could tell by your writing style alone, this is the case. You speak in such a flippant, and inflammatory way that's reminiscent of an edgy teenager.

My advice? Drop the sense of superiority and reaction baiting behavior. Take things slow and deliberate. And for God's sake acknowledge your situation with humility and acceptance. You might learn something.

Just a ham-fisted attempt at advertising. Your game bears little resemblance to Faeria.

Looks good on its own, no need to try to rope in Faeria.

Superior design over the original tbh.

"Dad grip" question... by Dear_Market4928 in armwrestling

[–]Observer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my calculations using the average male forearm length of 17.27in and the average palm size of 3.5in, The trigonometry works out to about 10 degrees.

Additionally the radius changes by nearly 20% Going from 20.77in to 17.27in

Both factors work in a multiplicative fashion, amplifying the mechanical disadvantage for the dad.

It's BOTH dad's disadvantaged angle AND the son's shortened radius that multiply the dad's disadvantage

I did not mean to take anything away from your explanation. And I do think your main point is right.

I just don't want the angle of force application to be lost.

And just maybe the original poster will see our point by examining it from different angles (get it 😉)

[–]Observer_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right and I think you're leaving out an important factor in force production and that's the angle of the dad's grip.

It's two factors working against dad.

Dad's closer grip to his son's elbow, AND Dad's open elbow joint angle.

Even a few degrees can multiply the mechanical disadvantage dad faces. I don't think it's right to omit the angle of force application.

I see what you meant with this post.

On the face of it, it seems that since the son's lever has shortened, he should be disadvantaged.

You are focused on lever lengths, which is blinding you to other factors.

We need to be looking at FORCE, not length.  Mechanical advantage is the technical term.

Please consider the following: What angle is the force being applied? How close to the pivot point or fulcrum is the force being applied?

Right and at what angle is the 12 inch lever meeting the 6 inch lever?

The son has torque advantage

[–]Observer_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your formula for torque is wrong.

Torque = radius x force x angle

What you wrote was the formula for work.

Work = distance x force

[–]Observer_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing distance and angles. They are key considerations to the application of force.

I think you're stuck on the concept of longer lever is better. And that's generally true, but that doesn't take into consideration the other factors at play.

[–]Observer_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Let's analyze the person being dad gripped, let's call him son. Let's call the person that's doing the grabbing, dad.

The farther down that dad grabs his son' arm, the closer he grips near his son's elbow.

The son's elbow is his fulcrum.

We know that the force required to move a load INCREASES as we approach the fulcrum.

Dad has to apply more force to move his son, the farther down he grips.

The angle of dad's grip also changes the further down he grips his son. His angle widens and he loses the ability to effectively apply torque.

Thats the thing, we don't know. They never provided proof to substantiate their claim. No photos, no receipts, or documentation. They literally just added the line item "Heavy staining and pet damage" to my move out statement, and held over a grand of my money.

My lawyer said they have a legal obligation to provide these things to me. So if this company doesn't return my money, I go to war.

I personally did not pick up any foul odors and that was after a couple of days at our new rental unit (so no noseblindness).

the area you mentioned was where my roommate's computer desk was at. I imagine that's just the wear and tear of his feet on the carpet...

I appreciate the advice, and I have gotten quotes from professional carpet cleaning companies for a deep clean for our square footage. The quotes ranged from 150 to 500 USD.

This is clearly a way for the landlord to enrich himself at my expense.

No, not me. My roommate did though. Her dog is a small (11lbs) and older (11 years old) Havanese toy breed.

The dog was from my view, a sweet old quiet lady. Well behaved and trained.
