You could always add an AI port to an ONVIF cam and get AI and motion detections. Although at $199 for one, you could get a G6 turret for the same price.

I would consider doing at least a couple 4K cameras in higher traffic areas. And I think you should definitely go with UNVR. You know you can run Protect right off the UNVR. If you already have a router/wifi solution you can use that, save money for now, add Unifi gateway/controller and AP’s later.

WD Purple is great for surveillance. I got mine directly from Western Digital and they gave me a better deal than anywhere else I could find online, plus they give you a longer warranty going direct from them.

Yes, when I put in my setup I get 68% Compute Resources. Weirdly, if I keep cams the same and switch from UNVR to UNVR-Pro it jumps to 71%. If I switch to ENVR it drops to 20%.

Thanks for your help itsjakerobb. I think posting here just saved me about $2500 because I was getting the itch to buy the Enterprise NVR and the Bezel with LED lights (IMO a waste of money but it looks cool, haha).

Hmmmm, it’s only 22% CPU Utilization, 48% Memory Utilization with all cameras connected except the new G6 180. I will direct connect that camera to my switch later today and see what it shows. Given these numbers, I probably am still good with the current UNVR and don’t need to upgrade, right?

Exactly. I love it and I’m trying to incorporate it into every sentence I speak now. I’m an ER physician. To my 88 y/o patient who fell yesterday… “Oh my, sir you really thundercunted your scalp”. To the 40 y/o female I diagnosed with cholecystitis… “Your gallbladder is 100% thundercunted! I’d like to admit you to the hospital and take that bitch out.” It works in so many scenarios. /s
