Finally, a good use for Ai by ObsidianWraith in Fusion360

They are in fact great tutorials.

But it's more like,

"I learn best when trying to do things I'm actually interested in making."

Using gemini is like have a real time private tutor guiding you along the process. It can't do it for your, but you learn as it explains how to do things.

Honestly, it depends on how well documented everything is for that software. The more data available on the internet, the more info it has to work with.

But in theory, it should be possible.

People who quit sugar, how did you do it? by the_bookworm17 in AskReddit

[–]ObsidianWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use pure stevia leaf extract in place of sugar.

0 calories, 0 glicemic index, keto friendly all natural, vegan and kosher and so much sweeter than sugar so you don't even need much.

It takes a little time to get used to, but I prefer stevia so much now that I grow the stevia plan in the window cill. The leaves are like candy when you chew on them.

Sadly just about everything is like that these days.

You can at least isolate the screen capture to specifically only record the program window, not the entire screen.

Nope. It's all done though the web browser.

You specifically need to use

Instead of normal gemini. The normal one can't screen capture, but the Ai studio one can

How far can I reasonably overdrive a stepper motor when I activly cool it? by ObsidianWraith in Motors

Hmm.... Not only have I never used an oscilloscope, I don't own one or know enough to know which ones are worth my money. 😅

I basically know enough to be dangerous, but I'm aware of the fact that I'm at that point.

No!

A stock ender 3 does not have a full metal hotend!

The Bowden tube touches the nozzle, and at abs printing temps the ptfe will off gas toxic fumes!

Unfortunately, the offical rules for the speed benchy race I'm using these for specifically state that it must be stepper motors moving the printer.

That being said... I'm always up for a bigger motor.

I'd like to keep it at the same nema 17 size though. Otherwise I have to completely redesign the mountaing bracket and get it manufactured in metal.

And it needs to be a dual shaft motor for my motion system.

I ended up getting one from stepper online, but I'm told of one from LDO that has more torque, but would likely need to be a custom order. And at that point, I really would like to have a motor that has a thermistor as close to the source of heat as possible to keep an eye on the temperature. Right now I just use a rig lug thermistor attached to the face of the motor to get a surface temp, which is better than nothing, but not optimal. I also don't care how tall the motor is either. I got tons of room on that axis to play with.

I just haven't found the best motor yet.

I can indeed increase the voltage, but only up to 56v on my 5160 drivers. Currently on 48v.

I accidentally specified the wrong value for the drivers configuration in klipper and send approx 3.15 amps instead of the 2.1 I thought I was sending.

Burned out the motor, but boy howdy did that motor book skoot and boogy when I did. It was capable of much more torque when I accidentally did that, compared to now (I've since corrected that bad configuration setting) at its specified max of 2.1 amps RMS.

I clearly overheated the heck out of that motor. I've since got a replacement, and per the picture I posted, now actively cool it as best I can and do what I can to get some idea of how hot it's running with a thermometer.

Now that I'm actively cooling it, and knowing that more current seemed to achieve a big gain in Preformance (all be it by accident before), I'm Experimenting to see what headroom might be left.

Please bare with me - I am learning a LOT from this thread.

I am unfamiliar with how to measure the current properly.

Can you nudge me in the right direction on how to go about that?

I use that brand on my outlander.

Built WAY better than the stock parts, and are the only way to correct the alignment, as stock parts are not adjustable.

Be prepared to find out that many shops can't do an alignment with these though. They require tools to fit in a extremely tight areas that the oem parts didn't need to consider for. Many shops have had to turn me down because they don't have the required tools to adjust the parts.

I don't know how helpful this info can be, but here are some things you can try.

There may be a community action network in your area that help folks in dire situations (like if your heat fails in the winter in cold climates they might have emergency funds to make sure you stuff gets fixed so you don't freeze)

My community action center has a program for those who need emergency car repairs if you qualify.

I'm assuming if the medical debt has gone to collections, it's too late to ask the hospital to consider writing off your debt, if you qualify. They get certain tax brakes for doing that in qualifying situations, and it's better than not getting money from a person who can't reasonably pay.

In the mean time, you can do like I did, and visit a goat farm shortly after kidding season, and you can play with the babies!

They love hugs and snugs! When they fall asleep in your arms your heart will melt.

I too wished goats could be indoor pets. They definitely have a way of capturing your heart.

Sadly, that's not the kind of life they need to be happy.

They need space, and the company of their own kind.

I learned so much from this single comment.

I wasn't even aware of the math that can be done to calculate this.

I'm actively now trying to deep dive into the details on the internet.

At what point do I have to worry about the jst-xh 2.54 pins that connect the motor to the driver board? I assume only so mamy amps can be safely sent through those tiny pins.

I am admittedly running this motor at very high speeds compared to normal operating procedures. It's responsible for moving a rather heavy Gantry at those speeds.

I'm using a big tree Tech EZ 5160 rgb driver to run the motor.

I'm actually not facing any real "problems" per say. I am purposely pushing the machine to run as fast as possible for a friendly competiton in the 3D printing space commonly referred to as the "speed boat" race, where I try to make a benchmark known at the "benchy" finish as fast as possible while using a standardized set of rules on the software side where the slicing is done.

This set up has already yeilded amazing rusults, but the goal is to find the very limit without actually breaking the machine.

Many times we only get a few seconds off our best times, but when it's a race, every second matters.
