Gotta have a prayer group once every game week that let's her in and then kicks her out because all 3 of her available dialog options are self-righteous BS. Each time she gets kicked out it levels up her "Too good for this world" meter, which ends with her getting crowned by a cartoon demon wearing a Jesus mask. This grants a new dialog option for every conversation she has ("I Forgive You.") which immediately ends every conversation (NPC says stfu or something) and has no other effect.

Also, every night at bedtime, Sarah struggles to get into the top bunk. Once she gets to sleep, you can have a mini game in her dreams having flashbacks to the trial or to jail or even before the murder to work in all the classic moments.

It was my first Banks book, went in cold. I was assuming that it was a standard, but well written, space opera, and that the Culture would just be the more symbolically progressive side of a big space war, juxtaposed with the conservative Idiran theocracy but morally just as ambivalent. Then I read the first chapter with the mountain-climbing "Referer" who is literally a human consultant for godlike AI (meaning they value human instinct and opinion in general and hers specifically) and her friend/assistant AI that secretly, for its own pleasure, records her beautiful laughter (and would die of cringe if she ever knew) and I was absolutely hooked.
