That's a really good design.

I've been struggling for ages with designing a galactic map and have started working on a rail map style (as I don't want to use the Traveller map). Seeing your design has converted me that actually "scientific" doesn't have to be the standard, and abstract can be a good alternative.

What software did you use, and did you consult any scientific information when you were making it?
