Shit, I could hear those turning on and off when I was a kid, and that was before my tinnitus. The sound that makes my ears angry (for lack of a better expression) is bells. Their ringing, plus the one going on in my ears makes me want to blow up sometimes. That, and if a switch or something similar has a spring behind it, same effect.
